Actors like Elijah Wood, Viggo Mortenson, Orlando Bloom, Ian McKellan, Liv Tyler, like the cast just can't be better! The way they performed and said their lines brought out the epicness and emotion Tolkin wrote. Add Howard shore for music (way more epic then this adaptions music) and the Weta Workshop, you just can't compare the two. There is a clear choice as to which one is better!

@WalterLiddy That's not what irks me, as Jackson irks me even more. It's that whoever made this show understood little of the significance of the characters of the story, or even the terminology. In part 4 of this YouTube presentation, they have the character of Aragorn using the word "doom" in away that is not in kilter with Tolkien's message. Not to mention that they disastrously play down the character of Samwise Gamgee, who is clearly the true hero of the entire saga.
