  • At last, I find a person that thinks that about the Silence. About the DreamLord and The Valeyard, the first was a possibility not a fact, and was physical, and the other is the darker side of the Doctor, but subconscious finally manifested.About the idea of the Silence wanting to kill the Doctor to stop his darker side, that idea is similar to the theory that 7th caused 6th to regenerate cuz he was going to turn in to the Valeyard-the idea is in Millennial Rites.. I believe-

  • The Valleyard kind of reminds me of the Venom in Spiderman. He's his evil incarnation, he's waring black, he has to be something like a part timelord because he may have confused the computers (timelords have to have a great security system), he can shapeshift... Could the producers be inspired by Spiderman to make a dark side of the Doctor?

  • @McKnowledge1000 The idea of a darker side of a good character isn't really a new concept. The two of them could have come up with it seperately from each other. I don't know a lot about Spiderman so I wouldn't know about that. However as I said before I don't think the Dreamlord is the Valeyard as much as he is a reimagining of the idea of the darker side of the Doctor taking on a seperate form and personality. IMO the Dreamlord is much better than the Valeyard ever was.

  • I made several videos, a podcast with thatsthewayitgoes09 and aspergianstar2009 saying that the Doctor was a regeneration further than most people thought as the regeneration in the Journey's End episode was a regeneration, even if the rest of the energy was fed into the hand. It may have been me that wrote that but it would have been a year or two ago.

Great video btw, I will feature it on my channel just got someone else feature first. :)

  • @IJUSTSUBSCRIBENOW Thanks. I hav definately seen it in a couple of places but I am certain I have seen it on a YT comment as well. So it could have been you or maybe someone who has watched your videos. It is an interesting concept that the Doctor is further ahead and that might also effect this darker side of him coming out because it was supposed to happen between th 12 & 13 renegeration but the Doctor is one regeneration ahead so now its 11 > 12. IDK it makes sense in my head! lol

  • The Doctor has had a dark side since the very start, in the episode "1000,000 B.C." Ian Chesterton stopped the first Doctor (William Hartnell) from killing a wounded caveman by crushing his skull with a large stone.

  • @1967xmen I know that but this is the first time in a long time that so much has been made of it. Moreover I think it's fair to say that the Eleventh Doctor has more darkness in him now than he did back when he was the First Doctor because he's much older now and been through so much more. He's almost much more famous and well-known throughout the universe.

  • @1967xmen Thats true, every Doctor had his dark Doctor moment at one point, some people tend to forget about the caveman...
