Few comments from people who've obviously never driven a 911 - the reason it's harder to drift is because it has so much mechanical grip! (Big, fat tyres and the weight of the engine pushing the wheels into the ground.)

No mid- or front-engined, rear-drive car can match this.

in the drifting category, the R8 has it all the way. You can tell the guy driving the porsche cant keep it sideways even under power. or he just isnt comfortable going sideways. Either way the R8 does much better at going sideways than the 911

Im a huge 911 fan, But it is basically impossible to drift a 911 4S. I mean the engine is in the back. I bet you can drift but it is just so much more harder. Audi R8 will always win no doubt. But on track it is a differnt story.

yep and porsche is increasing its steak in vw its funny since porsche came from vw now its buying into vw which has bought all these other performance companies i usually don't like corporate buy outs but at least vw is actually letting them develop separately as well as cooperatively rather than making them all use one chassis to save money in high end performance its important to have alot of different ideas

yeah, you're right. it's also funny because porsche is much smaller than vw and still manages it to almost control them. they've announced to buy even more shares than they already have (about 30%)and own over 50 per cent of vw. that means full control:-)
