It's as if the writers never saw the original series. It's like a spinoff to great show in which some idiot studio execs thought it be a really cool idea to give the best supporting character his/her own show where he/she moves to California to start a new life. Just dreadfully corny and an amazingly lazy idea. The only positive was the lack of eyeliner George applied as the movie progressed. I totally disagree with the top rated comments. Apparently they've come to enjoy crap. This was crap.
So the final ending was the "upper managment" giving George/Millie the boss's position? Unfair..unjustified..frustrating as it is? I wish I was a reaper & would reap the S.O.B who canceled this show! I'm on the fence about this movie. In the series, she was unable to interact with her mother. In fact she even lost a precious memory in the attempt. But now all of a sudden she can converse with her sister? Maybe it was because her sister never truly believed her to be dead? -shrug- Good series ending with an alright movie. Love how they killed their boss and sent his remains into space. Lol. Either way, thanks Hazel for posting this sisnce I hadn't seen it before today :D

She finally let go her love for her sister. She needed to tell her she loved her. She would have had her lights, except she's got an important thing to do: reaping

I think that the movie itself sucked, but that the end bit with the post-its brought a wonderful closure, letting everyone know that Rube was still watching. Cause for me, he made the show.
I think the problem with this, more than Daisy or lack of Rube (both of which are sad) is the lack of sarcastic and cynical narration throughout which really made the series.

Do wish they would have made more seasons. The movie was good but not like the original seasons. Why do all the shows get cancled and all the ones we want to end keep going and going. Would like it if they could try to bring back one more season.

When I started the film I expected that Rube's disappearance would have something to do with the plot, apparently not!! I could just about tolerate changing the actress who plays daisy (although the original was much better) but removing a character altogether. This film was not well written, the plot was sloppy, things remained un-resolved, it was frankly a disgrace to the original series. I really do not know what they were thinking, cancelling the series and replacing with this travesty!

People - actors are replaced all the time - deal with it! This was a perfect ending. The last show of the series, she was given the power to terminate gravelings. A power none of her own co-grim reapers had. Georgia had seen gravelings during her childhood. A better ending would have been her showing up at a new waffle house with a book to hand out post-its. Rube felt nothing holding him back when her daughter died.
I totally agree on both subjects. Actors cant stick around till the very end. And the ending was awesome.Out of all of the reapers, George was the most responsible when it came to her duties. She didnt abuse her powers, she didnt abandon her reap, and she handed her situations with her sister and Dolores in a very mature way
It was a cute movie. I think the reason why most people think it sucked was because all of the characters weren't really as much a part of the story as they were in the series. The main focus is on George and her family and how they're doing five years after George's death, not on where Rube went, not on Roxy, Mason, and Daisy.
Don't forget that the story began focusing on George's family and life, why shouldn't it end that way too?

The acress playing Reggie gave a rich poiniant performance. George was as fab as always. Love that she is now the Head Reaper. Murry's death made me cry. I liked how the little girl who stroked Murry before he went was the a pet reaper. Miss Rube. Not a bad movie, but hope that it isn't the end for DLM yet. This movies was only released last years, so hope there may be another movie or a series reboot. Thanks for uploading this. I really enjoyed it.

as many other comments have stated...it wasn't the best movie ever. It was just "meh" in my books. The series was way better (obviously), I guess I just wish they showed more of the other characters stories (like mason... i love him haha). It was just different. At least they attempted to end it all with a movie though, it helps for closure wrapping everything up. [unlike the show "pushing daisies", which was also really good. -sigh-]
@TaraB972 You know after season 2 of pushing daisies was cancelled they released 3 Final episodes to close up the story. It was like Official Unofficial Epidoses. You can try to find them but I doubt it would be easy. They are not even on the DVD's :/

I agree with Godzie1 , George would have been the new leader. Also, all the bad stuff,(like the new Daisy) was made up for by the scenes with Ellen and Britta. Real chemistry there. I liked it. Might watch it again.

But the one thing I never, ever liked about it was how they anti-climactically handled their major villains.

I loved every character in the series including secondary; the family and Dolores; but in the movie i hated 'em all especially daisy. Daisy in the series was so vein but at the same time, you could see that she was deep and stoic -here she was a bumbling idiot especially the scene on the stage...And when they all screwed up; didn't we learn what happens when you interfere in season 1? So sad :(
@sulphurman According to the series, Daisy turned to alcohol because she is still feeling guilty about the death of Ray. Though you'd think after five years she'd get over it. But aside from Daisy, I wish the series had been more like this. Deep, meaningful and sad, yet it makes you think and makes you wonder. I don't know why, but I cried during Murray's funeral scene. And only cried on one episode in the entire series, which should tell you how sad the tone of this movie really is.

This movie coulda been a whole lot better, but it coulda bet a lot worse. I think it was a nice cap on the series. George started off as a reluctant reaper and now finds herself as a leader. Now she can help other reapers find their places. She was able to finally make peace with her sister, who may now find peace with herself. "Dead Like Me" is one of deepest series I've ever seen. George stats off as a confused loser, and only after her death does she begin to live.
@haudace It derailed when they took out a major established villain in their plot with about as much effort as a wink, when they could have used him to enhance the plot with a more satisfying conclusion.

Another movie is possible. If Cameron was friends with the mayor he could question his disappearance. If they dig further they could find out about Ray disappearance. And the group could be under investigation.

They should have added more life after death stuff, it should have been more scfi. Why do movie producers use the words Fu** and G D in almost every line. It doesnt add anything Good to the movies. She could have said "Im so screwed" instead. Foul language just makes people look dumb!

1)George is in charge
2)Mason is all pissy about it.
3)Roxy cooperates often begrudgingly.
4)Daisy gets her lights (on show-season opener) and is replaced with a sarcastic wiseass. who has to learn everything the hard way (is to George what George was to Rube)
5) Transfer from another division comes in, a snooty 'professional' type, tries to tell George how to do her job.

I think they kind of took alot of the focus off of mason and daisy and the "other" characters. I think the plot of this was mostly to develop and finish the storyline between george, and reggie, and the mother. Though "new daisy" kind of sucked and seemed to be a completely different character than the other fragile, sophisticated daisy, the focus wasnt on the side characters, so she didnt ruin it for me too much.
Why does so many say this was bad? No, not as good as the series but with George as the new boss, they could easily pick this series back up. I hate when good shows end too soon....thanks for posting this. Would love to see these characters again.....loved that show!
Ok, but I really have a hard time wrapping my head around this one. I liked the way that she got rid of the reaper boss. Sending him into outer space was the best idea yet. Try different ending to give a new surprise every time.

The acress playing Reggie gave a rich poiniant performance. George was as fab as always. Love that she is now the Head Reaper. Murry's death made me cry. I liked how the little girl who stroked Murry before he went was the a pet reaper. Miss Rube. Not a bad movie, but hope that it isn't the end for DLM yet. This movies was only released last years, so hope there may be another movie or a series reboot. Thanks for uploading this. I really enjoyed it.

@rockstargurl117 The end of the movie would be a wonderful start to a new chapter in George's life - as head reaper. Such a different series and a unique female lead - stong, socialy awkward, snide, sarcastic, badass and quirky.

as many other comments have stated...it wasn't the best movie ever. It was just "meh" in my books. The series was way better (obviously), I guess I just wish they showed more of the other characters stories (like mason... i love him haha). It was just different. At least they attempted to end it all with a movie though, it helps for closure wrapping everything up. [unlike the show "pushing daisies", which was also really good. -sigh-]

@TaraB972 You know after season 2 of pushing daisies was cancelled they released 3 Final episodes to close up the story. It was like Official Unofficial Epidoses. You can try to find them but I doubt it would be easy. They are not even on the DVD's :/

Looks as if IF there was a revival of this show, George would be in charge... were up to me, Daisy gets her lights and is replaced with a new reaper that George has to deal with... maybe a sarcastic wiseass who has to learn everything the hard way.

honestly, I don't care if they couldn't get a couple of the original actors back. They did an awesome job at ending the series.
It adds a bit more at the end of this movie knowing that thats all there is.

I've watched the whole movie:
It's very strange.
It's a shame that they degraded Mason, Roxy and Daisy to a bunch of conniving weirdos, having the most awkward B-Story in history!
Hudson's Death was pretty amazing. The car scene after that was so bad...
The design of the "lights" was cool, maybe better than in the series.

Dolores rocked the thing here ... but is there really an cat funeral sending Murray into the orbit? a bit over the top. The end's weird.

I agree with Godzie1 , George would have been the new leader. Also, all the bad stuff,(like the new Daisy) was made up for by the scenes with Ellen and Britta. Real chemistry there. I liked it. Might watch it again.

I really wish they had wrapped up the show nicely... I felt like towards the end, they knew they weren't going on for another season. The characters here felt different. I understand that it's been 5 years & people change, but still....
I wouldn't have done this movie without Rube. The whole movie just seemed like a mess. No plots were developed enough. George and the other reapers had 2 separate plot lines. works for a tv show, not a movie. totally underdeveloped. gonna go watch the show now.

Okay i can't take the new Daisy made this a suck-ass bore and the whole reap gang losing their minds over some bull shit in the matter of days after Rube pent how putting the fear of Karma in their asses. Fuck hell in the show Daisy had limits and Mason may have been a drunk but he wasn't a fool and Roxy sold herself out for damn peice of metal come on she's not that shallow.

My take on this ending when the post-its fell around George,
Is that she is now "chosen" to be the leader of the reapers.

Dead Like Me is really great (The series, and to a lesser extent the movie)...
But the one thing I never, ever liked about it was how they anti-climactically handled their major villains.
Thumb this comment up, down, and all around if you think Cameron should have taken over management of all reapers and caused serious shit to happen, and then the Reapers should have united to take him down in an epic confrontation with George and Reggie leading them.

I loved every character in the series including secondary; the family and Dolores; but in the movie i hated 'em all especially daisy. Daisy in the series was so vein but at the same time, you could see that she was deep and stoic -here she was a bumbling idiot especially the scene on the stage...And when they all screwed up; didn't we learn what happens when you interfere in season 1? So sad :(

@sulphurman According to the series, Daisy turned to alcohol because she is still feeling guilty about the death of Ray. Though you'd think after five years she'd get over it. But aside from Daisy, I wish the series had been more like this. Deep, meaningful and sad, yet it makes you think and makes you wonder. I don't know why, but I cried during Murray's funeral scene. And only cried on one episode in the entire series, which should tell you how sad the tone of this movie really is.

This movie coulda been a whole lot better, but it coulda bet a lot worse. I think it was a nice cap on the series. George started off as a reluctant reaper and now finds herself as a leader. Now she can help other reapers find their places. She was able to finally make peace with her sister, who may now find peace with herself. "Dead Like Me" is one of deepest series I've ever seen. George stats off as a confused loser, and only after her death does she begin to live.

Another movie is possible. If Cameron was friends with the mayor he could question his disappearance. If they dig further they could find out about Ray disappearance. And the group could be under investigation.

@Liliads2007 Or Cameron has a relative who finds out, becomes a reaper, does what his brother did only actually succeed in ruining established order by "Upper Management" and culminate in a face-off with George leading her reapers against the new villain, and have Reggie somehow involved.
Would be the best thing to happen in the entire Dead Like Me universe.

They should have added more life after death stuff, it should have been more scfi. Why do movie producers use the words Fu** and G D in almost every line. It doesnt add anything Good to the movies. She could have said "Im so screwed" instead. Foul language just makes people look dumb!

It would haven been just as awesome and nothing would have been taken away from the plot and emotion behind the series had the swear words been eliminated. I wonder if the series HAD been produced with out the swears and shown on a network station (vs a cable one) if it would have lasted longer, thus sparing us from this horrible filth of a film. ): At lease Reggie did a good job!

1)George is in charge
2)Mason is all pissy about it.
3)Roxy cooperates often begrudgingly.
4)Daisy gets her lights (on show-season opener) and is replaced with a sarcastic wiseass. who has to learn everything the hard way (is to George what George was to Rube)
5) Transfer from another division comes in, a snooty 'professional' type, tries to tell George how to do her job.

I think they kind of took alot of the focus off of mason and daisy and the "other" characters. I think the plot of this was mostly to develop and finish the storyline between george, and reggie, and the mother. Though "new daisy" kind of sucked and seemed to be a completely different character than the other fragile, sophisticated daisy, the focus wasnt on the side characters, so she didnt ruin it for me too much.
Also, i LOVE delores herbig. LOL.

Ok, but I really have a hard time wrapping my head around this one. I liked the way that she got rid of the reaper boss. Sending him into outer space was the best idea yet. Try different ending to give a new surprise every time.
