What people should remember is that when you get into a fight you are not going to perform one of your "katas / forms" because people don't attack in the manner they are arranged. These forms and sets of moves are used as a means of preserving the use of the moves and teaching the flexibility of them. If you learn 1 form you have just picked up at least 3-5 stances, and 5-10 blocks and strikes.

It's like people confuse what works with a referee one opponent on a padded surface with rules with real life. by the same logic "I never see anyone getting sho tor stabbed in the UFC or in PRIDE, so therefore guns and knives don't work, body will stand and let you cut the. Oh yeah, and stealth bombers and neuclear weapons are useless since I've never seen anyone get killed by them in the UFC.
if striking vital points, breaking legs, take downs, avoiding getting taken down, poking the eyes and rupturing the groin, as well as stick and knife fighting is impractical, and of course, using pad work, training sparring, counter grappling and conditioning is useless then you can say Kajukenbo and kenpo are useless. If those skills are useful, then Kajukenbo and kenpo are TOPS.
lol not saying it doesnt help you fight someone im just saying for example look at UFC fighters in actual fights. THey arent doing fancy chops to the throat and twisting arm blocks because its just not practical to try that stuff in a fight. I mean if you can get it then good but i dont think i would let someone strike me that much and just take it. These may be drills but thats why i want to see what they would look like in PRIDE or somethin.
I respectfully disagree. They don't do chops to the throat, elbows in the back or shots to the groin in the UFC because there are rules against such things. In UFC/Pride, you can shoot in to takedown w/o fear of getting an elbow to the back or having a weapon pulled out on you because of rules. Don't have that guarantee on the street. Even MMA coaches/trainers will tell you training for the ring against one opponent is different from training for the street.
they don't do these things because they are ILLEGAL...and they are illegal for a reason...and it isn't because they do not work. i'm not saying a kempo/kaju guy would get off a whole sequence like they are done in class...but they are not, and never were meant to be taken that literally. they are vehicles if you will to learn other things. so its not the technique, but what you learn from the technique that matters most.
You would never see them in pride, since they are illegal and you would very quickly have dead fighters. If you confuse sport with combat you will be led further and further astray. I, my students, and people I worked with in bouncing, and security used these and others like them all the time. ask any bouncer or prison guard or cop who works a rough beat, ground grappling gets you killed, these techniques stop grapplers, boxers etc, because they are quick and target easily acessible targets

doesnt seem pratical. I can see where it would make you a good striker but i would like to see it in action.

Doesn't seem practical?? Then what is your idea of a practical martial art?

This is not the action, this is a little video about what the people do in those classes.
You can see the action in my videos: the action in a competition.
