how long did this take to render? i am rendering a 23 second clip, and it's taking 10 minutes.

i am using a 640x360 export and only one "gold crunch" preset. if i don't use magic bullet the rendering time is around 1 minute, but it 10x if i use it.

why is this? can i fix this?

@DeltaOneAirsoft Rendering times are huge. It depends on the processing power of your machine, but 10 minutes for a 23 second clip doesn't sound "off" to me.

@brianboyko ouch. is there a reason this takes so much longer than if i were to use standard brightness/contrast and CC tools? is it post processing it multiple times?

@DeltaOneAirsoft I'm not sure, but I think that it's just that Magic Bullet isn't coded as efficiently as Vegas. Generally, if I *can* use the standard brightness/contrast tools, I will, as it does take so much less time. MB isn't really a color correction (make things look right) tool as it is a color grading (make things stylized) tool. Use it only for the final render, don't try to use it as an intermediate rendering tool, and only when you need the specific look.

In addition to the vignetting, the color was corrected to give it a more cinematic feel. Blues are bluer, whites are slightly blue, yellows saturated and reds desaturated. It's a stylistic choice.

You -could- do this in Vegas, though it would require far more than two clicks. In Magic Bullet it's only one.

Editing was done in Vegas, with the Magic Bullet plugin. You could probably get a similar look from Adobe Premiere or Final Cut, which also support the plugin.

Magic Bullet does not come with Sony Vegas Pro 9.0, it is a separate plugin that you need to purchase separately. Once you install it, it should show up in Sony Vegas.
