the north face is too slow. IT's full of middle aged men from Leeds who think it's the best thing in the world. Seriously, sort your lives out. The north face is pants.
Me and my friend have just got hardtail mtb's, is this trail suitable for beginners and would our bikes be upto the job, We have a Cube Acid and a Cube LTD Comp
mint trail this, i had a piss at 7:24 at that bridge :).. i did this on a dirt jumping bike with no geers and n no sspenshn, then camped on grizdale campsite in saterthswate.. i think the pub neer there is caled the eagles head ?
sick video:P i've done the north face trail about twice now, however on the third attempt i face-planted on the boardwalk about halfway through:P aswell as breaking three fingers on my right hand! so basicly i was fucked.
Yeh i did the same (without breaking 3 fingers which sounds painfull) did the trail twice in same day, second time round, front tyre slipped on a very wet boardwalk step down... luckily it was wide so i didnt fall off :P the only thing on a trail which puts me off going fast on is a wet boardwalk with no ckicken wire :P
I assume you mean which one should you go to? For trail centre riding Afan wins every time, Grizedale doesn't come close. For natural terrain (ie other rides in the Lakes such as the Three Passes, Helvellyn etc) the Lake District is the best.
Great trail, did it last weekend. The gate at the end nearly got me too ha ha ha, no warnings, nothing, just speed then gate - SHIT! Good quality vid guys.
Good vid. Had my biggest off ever on the North Face Trail. I have a mantra that if I don't fall off at least once a ride, I'm not trying hard enough. Got on the last downhill & upped the pace, having not had a crash previously. Within 100m of the gate at the end, I hit a jump & knew immediately I was in trouble. Spent the next 20 mins in the toilets tending my wounds. Great fun.
looks like a good trail im going to the lakes this year so i might give it a bash only if i can find the right bike rack for my car lol what camera u use cause its quite a good picture
nice,i was there a couple of days ago.I rid the purple route starting at Bogles Crag and most of the way was up hill on a sort of gravel type surface and it was pretty hard to get up to the top,on the way down there was a patch of trail and it had 1 1/2 of ice and it was really fun bombing down that route and i agree that it seems alot of uphill for little payback.
I've been a couple of times, the last bit is good fun but yeah it could be better if it was extended (i'd much rather ascend on single track than deal with all the fireroad stuff). Not been to Gisburn in about 3yrs pigante, has it changed much?
hiya, we were there yesterday, your right about the disconnected feel to the trails, it would be much better with less fireroad and more trails, also seems alot of uphill for little payback. Now theyre spending some money on Gisburn hopefully that will be better
I love this trail did it today nice and technical

@daveb118 Maybe you shouldn't go there anymore, it seems to be raising your blood pressure in all the wrong ways.

I see you edited the Boardwalk out a coupke of times, did you bail?
I have never done a trail like this before and I borrowed my mates bike! The last bike i owned was a Raleigh!! haha
Stonio 2 years ago
The boardwalk is a mile wide so there's nothing really to bail on; footage not interesting enough so it ended up on the cutting room floor.

Brill video, looks like a nice bit of fast trail.. going there in the spring, what the trails hold up like in the wet?
superskimmer1 3 years ago
only been once; but they seem like they'd be ok as they're pretty rocky.
