Yes they do, if you play lighter music than you might want to keep your guages at .10-48/50 but if you tune low than try to go from.12-.56 its all a matter of preferance but you dont want the strings to be to loose or tight, but yea it does depend on the strings and what tuning you could be in because they have to be resiliant and flexible to accentuate every note individually

You gotta actually pull the string while pulling off instead of take it off directly. And an amp helps heaps as well

Put your finger on a string and pretend it's a stain and you're trying to rub it off with your finger, but it's a really small stain so you don't need to rub that far. And always rub it off from the right of the guitar(6th string to 1st string), as it's easy on your fingers.
