I don't think that the game is actually HANGING the monkey. See how he is hanging from a tree by his left arm? Also look at the cartridge. The monkey looks playful and happy and there's no instance of a noose. (which makes me wonder if NOOSE is one of the words you have to spell...) Now if they were actually HANGING the monkey? The ASPCA would probably take Atari to the slammer... and maybe hang the programmer and the cartridge itself for good measure.

it's funny you mention Hangman is like Wheel Of Fortune because that's how Merv Griffin came up with the puzzle part of the game and the wheel evolved with the format. Would you believe the show was originally titled Shopper's Bazzare? True story.

Hey I just picked this one up again with my friend O. We had been thinking about playing it. This was a regular game rotation months ago and we kinda lost it for no good reason. Anyways haha I just tried game five and it gives us both the time limit.

Sweet months later....I solve my own question. Finally a quick holler to the CLASSIC Game Room!!! I'm one of your biggest fans. I own the dvd, I bought a shirt from ya and I watch the majority of your videos and try to comment on most of them.

Hey one more comment, gonna play this again just after Indy 500...I'll come back to that. But do you know the actual game select level descriptions? I know Game 5 is like a versus mode but there seems to be a time handicap for a player and it seems like the other player never has the time handicap.

So yeah I can't figure that out. Is there a two player with either both timer handicaps or none. Just my friend O is getting upset cause he always has the time handicap it seems ha Late.

hahaha this was a lot of fun actually. We had just started drinking so after a game of NHL 2K8 on the PS3, I wanted to fire up the Atari 7800 so after we played Megamania and Tennis this game came up. And the two player mode was awesome!

I remarked that they just don't make games like this anymore and he said he wanted to see it on the Xbox or PS3. We agreed.

You CoUlD play it on paper, but you would have to make your own sound FX and that was a large part of the fun!
