Sorry LAPD, it's well established legal right that any citizen can record any action by any police officer. An officer does not have the legal authority to request that someone stop filming him.
Sgt. Torres should be suspended for his conduct, which to me, seems very unbecoming. A police officer is supposed to be completely NEUTRAL and operate with regards to the law. Sgt. Torres and the LAPD are NOT operating in such a manner. This is a disgrace to police officers everywhere and Sgt. Torres should be ashamed. Such extreme action FOR NO REASON.
Threatening is one thing, "making people uncomfortable" is something totally different. Sergeant Torres should know better than this. I'll bet that he's being paid off by Scientology in some way...
Meanwhile, as officer Torres and five other cops are shilling for the cult, about forty or fifty culty SO are jaywalking.
Yeah, seems trivial but if an anon were jaywalking or standing in the street like "Unbleevable Fronck" in this video, they would be cited and possibly arrested immediately.
Why is the selective enforcement being used to abridge the free speech rights of the protesters by Sgt. Torres?
At around 7:27 the cop calls the place a business. How come it's a business when they want it to be, a religion when it suits them but never recognized in the U.S. as the criminal organization it actually is?
Time to outlaw these ass hats like Germany did. Religious freedom is one thing, but blatant con games in the guise of religion is despicable. Time to turn the tables on these monsters and press lawsuits on them for all of the harm they do under the umbrella of supposed religious freedom. Or, are we to always allow people like Jim Jones to do as they will?
in the end the Cof$ staff from across the world will tell DM on the phone line to go to hell when hes screaming at them to divert the protesters away from Cof$ every time there's a protest. It gets monotonous.
The cult made headlines when a lawsuit involving a former gay member and John Travolta was made public. Travolta is named in a lawsuit that charges the actor helped the Church of Scientology deceive a gay member into believing he could turn straight. Michael Pattinson, a Newport Beach artist, alleges that the sect used John Travolta as an example of a homosexual "cured" by the Church of Scientology.
Scientology's long war with psychiatry has led it down some strange avenues, few stranger or more distasteful than what transpired in New York City in September 2001. Even before the dust from the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and Pentagon had settled, Scientologists were targeting the psychiatrists working with traumatised citizens in New York and elsewhere, seeking to "knock them out" of the disaster recovery efforts and blaming them for the attack itself.
