It's real. The guy put a shotgun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. We didn't hear the shot because of the semi driving by and he had his windows up. If you listen, the shot sounds like a muffled cough.
it does take a moment, i witnessed a suiside, and it took at least 20 seconds for my brain to realise what i saw, and then i did exactly what he did, ran... now i ran to get help as did he. So at the end of the day it looks extremely real and he is just trying to realise what he has come up upon.

@NintendoDrunkie Typically a vehicle that new has automatic locks when the car is put in drive, which means when he pulled over the doors were locked. Not to mention if the man wanted to commit suicide than he wouldn't want the cop trying to stop him so preventing him from gettin in the car, they're probably locked...
@TheSevenJr I understand that newer models have auto locks when in drive, but they usually open while in park. Meh.. Either way, he locked it up and finished it fast. A horrible sight, especially for people who are there to keep the peace.

If the guy had literally blow his head off and was beyond all hope, why not just call the morgue and have them pick up the body? The sound at 1:23 was the deputy's door closing. We parked on the shoulder and the SUV was leaning so it slammed. The gunshot sounds like a cough in the video.

He's lucky he didn't walk into a shotgun blast - better himself than the PD. And the traffic out there is often so loud you wont hear it, and with the lights flashing he probably missed the muzzle flash - tinted windown dont help either.

@39theone I can tell you. I was there. Yes he was slumped over. Then there was suddenly obvious signs on the console which brought his attention to the barrel of the gun.
May have been covered by the sirens etc. Also the traffic noise. I drive a semi, and when a tire blows it sounds like a bomb going off, sometime you hear it sometimes not. Just depends. Also if the shotgun was in his mouth some of the sound would be muffled... GOD how terrible. For everyone. Family of the dead guy, and the cops. Not likely to get that picture out of your head anytime soon.
I feel sorry for the guy that killed himself. I have Bipolar and when I get depressed it really sucks. But it's too easy to die and suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. R.I.P.

@yungprod1gy you can see him trying to key up on his portable but before hes able to say anything he runs to his car to use his vehicle radio. this shows that he was probably having issues with his portable radio, causing him to have a delayed reaction to running back to his patrol car. he knew what happened right away. my only question is why his gun wasnt out when he approached the car. you dont know for sure what that gun shot was until youre able to see in.
