Playing DS games on a 3DS

I found out if you put the 3D screen in the sunlight, it looks rainbowy-ish, and the pixel resolution is better on the 3DS than the others, and the game was set to fit the other DS resolutions, so then if you use something that has stronger resolution, the 3DS uses about 4 pixels for one on the DS

@5000abcz yeah i know but i was refering to a normal ds. the resolution is set on the game cards them selves too so the game wouldnt try to configure to the max resolution and lag on the ds but on a 3ds a ds game could probably go over 25% more resolution than it is at now

there is no difference because they also set a max resolution on the game it self cause if they didnt then the game would try to run at max probably and lag like sh** and be unplayable

I also have a ds lite and a 3ds. My ds lite is white just like yours but I have a flame red 3ds. If I would have gotten blue they would look exactly the same as yours...personally though I prefer the red though.

The blurriness is only because the 3DS has more of a pixel range. the DS/DSL/DSi all run on 720p while 3DS is running on 1080p

Hahah… ^^ Not even the Wii has 720p… 480p is the highest res on Wii.

3DS is actually just 240p.

But in terms of density, 240p is actually sharper on the 3.53" display on the 3DS than 1080p on an HD display with say, 32 inches.

Too much gameplay on 3D mode will hurt your eyes and by the time you switch to 2D mode your battery is about to die. Short battery life and not a big selection of games yet so we are going to wait. Dsi is still the better choice for now.

The only thing that sucks is that you cannot change the brightness and wireless settings mid-game.

@Gustavomazu 100% 3DS. The 3DS is not a DS, it's the DS's successor. DS games will eventually stop being made in within the next 6 months where as 3DS games will have games made for it for the next 6 years. 3DS also plays all DS games as well. No brainer.

Although the graphics actually still look pretty fine on the 3DS. Kind of what you'd expect from a backward's-compatible system. I don't have an original DS anyway, so I'll have to make do with whatever quality the 3DS gives me in this case.
