I never did understand pulling the plug on Plymouth. The brand served the same purpose in 1928 as it did in 1998.....get you into a brand new car for a few bucks less. Imagine a modern low-buck Charger derivitave with a Fury nameplate or a bargain Challenger sold as a Plymouth 'Cuda. In this economy, they could have been big winners.
Why would this even make sense? Plymouth is out of business and the Marque will not come back. Although Chrysler does own the name, so they could bring it back if they wanted to under Dodge or Chrysler.
AT LEAST IM ADMITTING IT but i first admired the plymouth roadrunner in tokyo drift when vin diesel was driving it...but when i looked into it i started liking it more and more this shit is beautiful!
Sure as hell hope they don't start producing this car because its fucking ugly...i had a 69 roadrunner and i was proud of driving it..if i some how won a car like that id sell it sure as hell
@harold123sk8 because only the superbird versions had the spoiler which they used on the 1970 roadrunner, and this concept is of the 2nd gen roadrunner which is 1972
they should make a retro version of the 1st gen road runner not the 2nd gen, and it should be REALLY long so that it actually resembles the old one and doesn't just look like the new challenger and camaro
@kennedy796 well that could just be because they are using the same engines and trans because they are all partners. For example GM took a buick designed motor the L36 3800 series II and used it in the base model firebirds/cameros/grandprix GTs/some buicks/some more chevys because they are all partners.
@37Moparman unfortunately, I doubt the US Government will allow them to reapply carburetors to engines as stock. Although, the 440 should definitely make a return, along with a direct injection system!
2010dodgeram1500hemi needs to watch fast 5 at the end when paul walker and van diesel yank the bank vault out and see why the charger is always pissed off
Ugly, why dont people try and make the car look somewhat like it did back in the day, the new Camaro,Charger, Challenger are but ass ugly they look like oversized hot wheel cars, the front ends are way too chunky. The only car that looks halfway normal is the mustang ,these new designers of these cars should be shot.
I just installed 71 Roadrunner pillar and roof strobe stripes on my 11 Challenger with a Mr. Norms pistol grip shifter, hood lock pins & beep beep horn.
@2012GT500Supersnake It's just my opinion. Why do I need to get your approval before I dislike something? Are you the opinion police? If you don't like something, do you need to get someone else's permission before you comment? I don't like this particular design and I could care less if you don't agree. Grow up....
looks too much like a challenger it needs something to differ it from the camero and challenger ,, like a cop top , fater tires too look like a clasic in the making you know a real Muscle car that will piss off the naighbors every tim you rev its 550 hp engine ..
i actually really like this, obviously can't compete with the 1970 model but other than the tail lights i would drive it, just put in a 440-6, redo the tail lights and read end and people will go apeshit.
'bout time ! anything looks better than the current one with the dodge ram pickup nose on it! Has anyone seen the new charger concept? its not on you tube, you'll have to google it. it looks exactly likt the 68 with hide away headlights and the air grabber hood from the road runners
Need to go more with the 68-70 design.Leave out the 71-73 design. But would love see the Road Runner back on the Road. They saved Chrysler and Plymouth once why not again.Forget the Charger it does nothing for me.
@ nsprayandpraynick - look more like a charger? dude. i have a 72 charger and a 72 roadrunner(which this concept takes the approach on) although a charger and roadrunner are based off of the B body , other than MAYBE rocker panels with modification , nothing of the 2 cars are interchangeable body wise. Claiming they are the same car with a "few diferences" is a little off kilter. apparently you have NEVER done a restoration on a dodge b4. NIGHTMARE.
I WOULD GO BUY THAT CAR TOMORROW . AND THEY CAN CALL IT A DODGE ROAD RUNNER OR WHAT EVER THE HELL THEY WANT DOES NOT MATTER. IT LOOKS FANTASTIC. WOULD LIKE MINE WITH A V 8 PLEASE.
originally the road runner and coronet were the same but after 1973 or so you are right that the road runner and charger started to share a lot of things
@allusernamestaken01 It kinda has the same general look as the '73 or '74 Road Runner....which resembled both the Cuda and Challenger in different ways back in the day, as does this concept. Come back to us, Plymouth!!
HHP had already got a new superbird and daytona in the works about 17000.00 over the price of the challenger body that they are using. It looks great google HHP superbird if you want to see the pics. Supposedly they had it at SEMA in 2010.
@KRBearden HHP is also starting to make the Trans Am again off of the camaro body with new front end and rear end its pretty cool to. I think it was going to be 20,000.00 plus over the camaro ss from what I read.
Damn I'm loving this. But there going the design it always comes out stupid when it's out in the streets stock version I mean. For once can't the make a car straight from the design. As always 30 to 40 grand this will be with low performence.
Plymouth went out of buisness....UNLESS another company picked up the car, they couldn't make it a plymouth :/ I'd sat Dodge, but the challenger looks so similar :o
