Want a simpler solution the simplest one yet. See GM VATS By-PASS video with the crash test dummy. Simple No resistor level needed, no resistors, no OHM meter needed.
Your making the by-pass more difficult than it needs to be. You have the resistence level in your hand Bozo!. Just have the key duplicated. Cut the key away from the RESISTOR PELLET solder the two white wires from the orange casing to either side of the pellet wrap with tape stuff it back in the column. Start the car using the key you had duplicated, drive away. That's it.

That is a resistor on the key, not a capacitor.
