Are love and passion exclusively human traits? This epic movie seems to beg to differ. That human traits can be "more human" in humanoids (Rachel) than the blade runner (Deckard) who is human. Even the Nexus 6 (Rutger) realizes and appreciates the value of life more than his hunter in the final scene. Musical score is haunting and beautifully renders this discordance.

Reading the book, "the Making of Blade Runner", the way the last scene in this video placed not only reminds us of the original cut, but of what really happens. In the first screenplay, Deckard takes her to the beach and finishes her off by putting several bullits into her. I am glad they changed that ending.

This video and how it ends with Scott's sax playing in the background, would have made the FINAL CUT a masterpiece!!! It should have been included.

A-hem... first of all go and read Phillip K Dick's novel, Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep. It's not easy, his writing style is hard on the brain and you wont feel emotional about it, but his story which morphed into Bladerunner has this underlying theme.

The story is not about whether Deckard is a replicant himself, it's about his ability over time to empathize with them, even love them and be devastated when they die. His

wish to free them.

@marilynaliceknight In the original release of the movie, there was no intent to portray Deckart as an android. Only in the "Final Cut" did they add content, which left you to wonder if he was or wasn't.

This movie was released when I was 11 - I was mesmerised by the advertising graphics and new that it would affect me when I saw it - it frightened me. When I finally saw it a few years later it opened up feelings and dreams in me that I never knew existed. One of the most poignant moments in the movie is the Love Theme - immerse yourself in it - it's what love is.

Cette musique est très représentative des sonorités de l'époque et je suis sure que sans la connaitre, si on est un minimum musicologue, que l'on peut la re situer dans le temps, et sans carbone 14 !
