  • Itzhak Perlman = BEAST! He is so talented it is unbelievable.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow... I'm playing this piece for a recital and I've had this exact recording from my teacher, and it doesn't have a name for the player. It was so frustrating because It's taking so long to get it to this level! Turns out I was trying to play better than Itzhak Perlman! Like that's ever gonna happen. I must say though it's quite a relief. I love the way his runs slide together. I don't know how many people have tried to play this song a tempo but man... ooooh man...

  • @Benevolence4

Can I just say that your teacher must be absolutely evil :P

  • Caulquier zapateado es inmensamente musical, en mano de Sarasate es la perfección

  • Es un privilegio y casi un sueño escuchar la musica de sarasate!!!!

  • incredible !(:

  • Beautiful sweet tone

  • i love how he play and the musik

  • Perlman is one of the best violonists ever existed; discussing does not change this

  • ...much better at shaham!!!!

  • I've never listened to this, but it sounds very good.

  • Itzhak Perlman is the shizz :)

  • I think Mr Perlman is a loonie and have a time with his music ! Enjoy yourself !

  • This is very good! But Szeryng is much better :)

  • How come !..

I have this video on my favourites for 2 years and WITHOUT A COMMENT !..

    It doesn't look like me,really :-)

Sorry PEARLman !..I was too shy then..probably :-)))

But you know I DO ADMIRE YOU ..:-)

You are the GREATEST VIOLINIST and PERSONALITY !!!

  • I've seen Perlman play this twice. Believe me it's Itzhak

  • Whoever thinks this is not perlman has their head in there rear end. I've seen him play this 3 times. Believe me, it's Itzhak.

  • this is Sarasate at its best, i can see Perlman smiling through the whole piece in my head haha

  • superb!

  • bravo

  • if I remember correctly, this is Rachel Barton's recording. I had it somewhere but can't find it at the moment..

  • yes!

  • if it is Perlman, it is not up to scratch!

  • this is not perlman

  • fun, quick, playful

    another perfect performance by perlman

  • It is Perlman, this recording is from his album "Virtuoso Violin". Great album... lots of Sarasate.

  • Me encanta! Puedo escuchar esta pieza mas de 1000 veces! Es fantastica!

  • it has to be perlman...i have a cd of him playing this and the audio is exactly the same. maybe its just the difference in live technique versus the recording quality at the time that you're picking up

  • WOAH THE PIC LOOKS LIKE IT'S MOVING

  • It's exactly the same interpretation i have (downloaded on some website), and i'm quite sure it's not Perlman!

  • Guess it could be anyone but what really matters is the joy this song brings to my soul, the rest...well...of course it's important, but even if he's not, then what? =)

  • I'm fairly certain this is not Perlman... if I had to waver a guess, I would say... possibly Oistrakh?

  • @Mecinimi (crazy) oistrakh? of all?

  • this is definitely not perlman - this artist doesn't use the same portamento in his playing

  • I looved this piece. sarasate's gotta be one of the best "modern" classical men

  • please tell me the year and who his the pianist?

  • It plays no Perlman -)

    This Oistrakh!!!

  • Are you sure? in wich year Oistrakh had played w this sound..oistrakh sound it's like this? never!!! Oistrakh sound's had no nois of cra cra bow on string! probabily this is no perlman but this in not the sound of the great Oistrakh, i think this is Ruggero Ricci.

  • 1950 year

  • Perlman is better than Hassid...

  • Very lively and on tempo! Great filming I love this song my sister tried to play it. Reaction: Utter Failure LOL 8)

  • Ever heard Josef Hassid playing this....?

  • si, si, si !!

  • i love perlman but hassid is something else. if anyone hasnt heard his rendition then go and listen now..........

  • Comment removed

  • lol i find the way you said that very funny...maybe you shoulda kept quite...there's a gonna be quite a few thumbs down lol

  • fuck you =)

  • No one is THE top violinist--not even beloved Itzhak Perlman. There are some and we all know some of our own...

  • fuck you too =)

you're nobody tu criticise even music =)

  • So, you just told me " fuck you too..." First of all, that is not by any means an acceptable style in conversation-it shows, though, who you are.The other thing is that Ido not even know the reason for your anger?!--Is it because of my statement that there is no such thing as THE top violinist? Well, that is so, for sure! I love many violinists as Perlman, Mutter, Heifetz and so many more-sometimes I think, well, he/she is the best here and now, then it´s some other...and that is good-o.k.?

  • if i was angry..surely i will not lose my time writting you...but i'm not angry =)

    yeha..i know ther're other violinists..

but pearlman is the top =)

    his playing is perfect.

also i love heifetz...but heifetz has few mistakes on his playing.

    and..

yes...i told you fuck you too...do you got sad?..is only my opinion xD

  • You asked for it--yes, it does make me sad to attract anger like yours just for making comments on music. By the way, don´t you think, too, that a respectful tone is better for all of us? We ought to treat each other the way we wish to be treated ourselves, please! This is never wrong. I can very well accept your admiration for Perlman--I know him personally and man, he is just something else. He plays the violin so effortlessly as you and I breathe-great!

  • oh come on xD

    stop crying ¬¬

    was only a comment ¬¬

  • Paganini Concerto No. 1, Perlman's recording. Search this, "Hahn/Perlman/Rabin/Shaham - double harmonics - Paganini Violin Concerto #1, Op. 6" and go to :56/:57. Perlman mistake.

That being said, love Perlman. XP

  • @meineke11 lol don't worry about those type of people they have no lives

  • @meineke11 bravo well said

  • seriously... who do you think you are to criticise perlman??? he is the top violinist in the world.... its a joke that anyone can criticise as noone has a leg to stand on when doing so... yes maybe he doesnt play every piece totally perfectly.. but every musician will be the first to tell you that there is always room for improvment an that there is no such thing as perfect playing.. he is the top violinist in the world... so.... shut up!!

  • y este que dice de ostias al violin? por dios.... ahy pocos k superan a este hombre por no decir casi nadie para mi heifetz y el son los que mas me gustan...

  • Comment removed

  • great music, wish there was a video too...amazing musicians

  • Muy buena, magnífica interpretación.

  • wow... I probably won't play like this until... a 100 years from now.

  • lol, "too clean", funny thing to dislike. Not that tehres anything wrong with it, just hit me as odd

  • Wow are you stoned?

Sarasate is supposed to be played with a bold style.

You're describing characteristics of like, Debussy...

  • it's the best interpretation of zapateado.i like szeryng's too

  • Wow, it is fast, and neat!

  • It´s a Excellent Violinist

  • personally i don't think that a dance-style piece... needs a brightful interpretation... just move!!! :)

  • hey, nat144, you cant see expression cause you cant see him. If you have ever seen the Maestro play, you see alot of emotion. Use your imagination, and imagine him play zapateo. I can see him all over the place while playing this song .

  • perlman , vengerov , heifetz , oistrakh... theyre pretty much the same great , guys

  • Perlman <3 Magnifique

  • ;) Bestial

  • Yes, it is great. Ever heard Oistrakh?

  • heh. He WAS THE GREATEST VIOLINIST, before.

but now it would be the Itzhak Perlman.

    Also, one more thing.

Oistrakh WAS NOT ABLE to fast staccatos. He once has announced to everyone that if someone can teach him how to do it, he would give his whole asset.

HOWEVER, the sound he makes from the violin was the prettiest thing ever, indeed.

  • Your comment goes to show that rating violinists from 'best' to 'worst' is HARD. Let's just say that both of them are great, because they are!

  • king Itzak !!!!

  • A master plays--wow! Bright and exciting!

  • omg! im atonished i had never heard this before... perlman is really the best violinist after heifetz and paganini!

  • Everyone speaks so highly of Vengerov, but I was a little disappointed with the one CD of his that I bought. I've never heard him live, maybe he sounds better in person.

  • i say that vengerov has a nice sound he is a virtous and the way he plays it impress me

  • Well he does have a very unique style. I find that some people think it's brilliant, but others don't really care much for it. So it's really just personal opinion

  • I have this record at home. I think he's the most natural violinist... and these piece is amazing too

  • paiclant- blame that on the violin, not him. maybe it's not tuned well. And anyway, I, I don't hear anything wrong with it.

  • Brilliant sound from a wonderful violinist/pianist combination.

  • it´s a shame that we connot see him playing.

    awesome

  • that's really a so wonderful piece, even with all those virtuosic things!! It really is!!

    Well done, Sarasate :-)

  • Audio, Super!

    Video ???????

  • where can i get the music sheet for this song?? i really wanna play it. also for u guys that have played it any tips or techniques that u can tell me especially on the left hand pizzicato.

  • as for left hand pizz, think about pulling your finger to the side rather then just plucking if that amkes sense.

  • tres jolie vraiment j'adore le zapa

  • Itxhak's staccato was never all that great, but he makes it work, and everything else more than makes up for it

  • Itzhak rather...

  • ItzhakRoxMySox

Though this is a good point that you have made, I have a different opinion about Perlman's Pizzicato (especially his L.H. Pizz.)

If you listen to the recording of him playing "Zigunerwisen", you will notice that his Left Hand Pizz. is pristine and clear. It is even more interesting if you compare this to other recordings

    Daryl Tong

    . ~"~ .

  • He plays it better than Henryk Szerying, and every note is played with expression and meaning.

What I really love about Itzhak is that he exaggerates every term in the score...the loud notes are played strong, whilst the soft notes are so delicate!

  • Exactly ! I agree with you !

  • Such a shame Sarasate's own recording of Zapateado is so fuzzy.

I never got how to do the left hand pizzicato in this song. Wayyyy too hard for most.

I haven't been able to practice today; my G string broke halfway through. It's been sounding funny for weeks...the first snap was probably one of the threads breaking. One more twist on the pegs was too much for it.

Tzigane put it through its life...

    ~RIP G -String~

  • Why always the G string is so sensitive ? I have never broken my E string which is supposed to be the thick and fragile but I have broken G too ! I have never tried to practise this to tell you about this left hand pizzicato..but i know playing part of the Caprice Basque with the ringing open E string left hand pizzicato which sounds so funny :p

  • The G string vibrates the most. Tzigane really wears it out, the first 20 bars or so are all on the G string...and since I use that song to warm up before I play Zigeunerweisen, where the really strong pizzicato and rough playing near the end wears it out even further, I'm not surprised mine broke.

  • what kind of G string to you use?

  • Why does this comment have thumbs down?

  • @Jextxadore And the best at David Garrett :)

  • na se dw na paleueis Caprice Basque kai ti sto kosmo!!!!!

  • @mixailaggelos2004 G strings O.O ,for the love of god my D always rips from the inside out...

    ~RIP D-STRING~ for my case

  • woah woah woah...in the beggining there suppose to be octaves right..he played the first note, then the second octave, then on the 3rd it was a little flat. but it was all great.

  • Itzhak is always fabulous! Have you seen Midori's interpretation at her Carnegie Hall debut?

  • No unfortunately but i wish to have whole's Midori Carnegie Hall debut...I have only her chopin as well as the Mozart that i uploaded...I know she played Tzigane too and Last rose of summer but I dont have them :(

  • :) Thanks you.
