The one we know to be the modern world and another one living beside it that holds great evil and it is our job to keep the two unique. It's the next step to Instanced combat and with a rational reason for the instance. I'd agree, this is the future of MMO's and I like what I see. I really, really want to like the Dragons, but they seem really stereotypical. It's like they were thrown for the sake of diversity. Could be much worse of course. But they don't seem to have their own voice compared to the Illuminati or the Templars...it's like they're just there.

They will be able to identify such subtle non-verbal communications such as hostility, apprehension, fear, joy, interest.. and so on. So why, oh why, do you have to make your characters faces as bland and as incapable of expression like in Poser3D 8? This is NOTHING like the cinematics - which were probably done by the same studio who did Guild Wars' cinematics.

Good graphics don't make for a good game. Graphics supplement in games where game play lacks. If the game place is enticing, graphics aren't needed to be as demanding.

I hate to say it, but World of Warcraft is the perfect example of this. The graphics in that game are very cartoony and simplistic yet it is still an amazing game

There are plenty of visually pleasing and fun to play games out there. Your world of warcraft example is an example of a game that's already several years old (7) based off a game engine even older than that (8). I have a feeling FunCom is going to trip all over themselves but it will eventually pay off.

They certainly have balls to push what the meaning of MMOs is suppose to be about.

What someone REALLY needs to make is a world LIKE world of warcraft, that includes what MOST people like: IE elves, flying on dragons, a plethora of races. But push it to the rated M stamp they put on Conan. And make it as beautiful as Conan.

What is it with MMOs and thinking this isn't an important feature? It's a FUN feature that adds immersion for RPers and a place for others to stroke their e-peens over the trophies and severed heads displayed.

Still, I will keep an eye out for RIFT although at first glance the graphics look more like WoW than Conan. It's like they stole their low polygon count color scheme/cartoon style and plastered it on the world. Then, updated the avatars.

Look at the Baldur's Gate (among many others) series, it's a decade old, but there is still a huge community playing it, why? Because of the story. Look at the Assasin Creed series, nice graphics, but in my opinion (and many people agree) absolute shit of a game.

I'm currently looking for the perfect MMORPG. So far the closest I've seen to emulate something interesting is Second Life. I wonder if The Secret World will be able to show something new to the Role Playing community.

I loved The Longest Journey, but it is only story driven.

I had a bit of fun with WoW, but it lacked a special something.

Guild Wars is neat with its vast and interesting guilds.

D&D has always been fun for me ^^
