This is one of the most disgusting aspects of Christianity. People discussing - in their soothing, low, melodic voices - why God allows people to suffer so bad. Firstly hell does not exist . It never existed in the Old testament and the reason it exists in the New testament is because different mythologies blended. Such as the Greek Hades.And the whole reason according to the bible that death and suffering "SIN" entered the world was due to adam and eve disobeying god and eating his magical apple in the garden of Eden(Even though god knew about this before creation he let it go ahead).So if eve didn't eat the apple there would be no sin no death no hell

There are tons of verses in the Old Testament that speak of hell. And you're right, sin did enter the world because of Adam and Eve. But we do not go to hell because of their sins, we go to hell because of ours. Adam and Eve were completely free to love God or to reject Him. God took a great risk in creating them with a free will but only then could their love for Him be real.

If God knows the future of a universe before he creates it, then choosing to create it is causing every good and bad thing to happen in that universe (even if the beings in it have freewill) because all our freewill choices are dependent on God to make them happen by creating the universe where they are going to happen. If God is all powerful, then he could have created a universe where every freewill choice was good, and according to christians knowing isn't doing so we'd still have frewill

Ray Comfort is a genius! :P No, seriously, everyone should read his book called Scientific Facts in the Bible and his bible translation The Evidence Bible. Really really good stuff, epecially if you have a heart for ministry and find yourself witnessing to skeptics often. Also, his buddy, Kirk Cameron, has an amazing grasp on the theory of evolution, and I think he is the only person I have ever heard talk about the theory and not contradict themselves.
