man i lost count of how many times I have viewed this review of the 901(I can predict the words!!),last few days been adding and removing the cmc 901 on my online cart since I already own an Autoart 911,but saw your review couple of times and I am convinced !!The model is on the way! Thanks a lot!
It depends on price point. Mattel Hot Wheels Elite makes some pretty good stuff (Ferraris, mostly) for around $100.00, as do Minichamps and AutoART (all subjects), and they're usually "curbside" models with no opening panels. If you like older stuff (and have upwards of $300.00 to spend), look into CMC's excellent Ferrari Type 61 or Maserati 250, or any of the recent classic F1 offerings from Exoto (which ticket at around $500.00).
excellent review! I think the CMC is hand paint and hand assemble, and Autoart have a similiar model too! I know the CMC use much more parts and more expensive material. But is the Autoart one also hand paint and hand assemble too? I mean is there any different in the way they make?
For me, CMC look very real and Autoart look real enough to me!
Sorry, I don't have much experience in this field!
@Newman8881 Most models are actually hand finished and assembled, but the CMC has a lot of very intensely detailed sub-assemblies for things like the engine wiring and plumbing, the leather seats, the working suspension, etc. On the other hand, the AutoART model is a beautiful display piece that offers a great image, and good under-the-skin detailing, for substantially less investment. The CMC is an heirloom piece; the AutoART an enjoyable collectible.
I shouldn't have watched this video. I've been thinking about buying a CMC model Auto Union Typ D (no, didn't forget the "e", that's the German way it's spelled), and, well, now I have to...
@AndersO1983 Sorry about that! (well, not really...). The CMC models are routinely some of the finest we see here - superb pieces that are so deep and entertaining, we keep coming back to see another detail over and over again. Glad you liked the review - and enjoy your new model!
Her i Poland this model is very expensive, my wife working in Tesco Super Market and she's got 1000 zł per month. Its silly beacouse this model also cost a 1000 zł it's 240 euro. !!!
Got this as a very generous gift.I have had a chance to look it over good and it is something one has to see for real to really appreciate this cars level of fit and finish along with the immense detail.
@PorscheBulgaria No it's not. The first 89 cars where actually called 901s ,only after the Peugeot incident they named it a 911 and kept the chassis number/type a 901. ;)
That comment is 1 year old.. back then I wasn't very informed about early Porsche models.. now I am but thanks for the correction, despite the fact that I know it now. :)
@LordMaxJa Yes mate you're right actually. I think it was that Peugeot had copyrighted the '0' in the middle of the three digits in a car designation.
@BeetleBerlin
Why even make that comment? That was just fucking rude man.

@Newman8881 It can - it's beautiful. Have you ever seen the other CMC models - like the pre-war Mercedes race cars? Incredible!

Very detailled model ... I better don't ask about the price. Up to now I always thought AUTOart is the creme de la creme but seems I was wrong.
