@PaulShepard1788 Hahah. Actually, in all my ME play-throughs it's mostly been Kaiden. It was SO hard to turn him down when I decided to go with Garrus instead. A lot of people think being a lesbian means to hold detest for men, and that's not true. I'm more comfortable around woman (and femininity in general). Thus, I think Kaiden embodies gentle and kindheartedness and that's fine, too. :) Liara was cute, but her voice annoyed me. Hahah. Have fun in ME3!!!

I think it's funny how he has this huge lead-up with how fucking sad he was and fucking up his life was then went into saying that seeing Shep again was the most amazing moment of his god damned life only to shit on her by bringing in the Cerberus hate bullshit all over again. People, this file isn't in the game. The letter is an e-mail that Kaidan sends Fem!Shep following the Horizon mission if she romanced him in ME1 and he survived Virmire to be around in ME2. The audio in this vid was Kaidan's voice actor reading it aloud as a treat for fans, he posted it on his personal blog last Thanksgiving.

@MissPumpkinJuice Because I work with reptiles and I'm a nut - Thane is not amphibian, he is reptilian, hence the moisture causing damage to his lungs *this is not the case for all reptiles of course, but basically, you don't want to be giving your bearded dragon a bath everyday. Misting Thane down so he can shed his skin (as I assume he does) may be required though. And Garrus is more like ... an avian, insectoid, space dinosaur.

Platypus combines a semi-aquatic + mammal + bird nose + endemic + maybe something else, but I forgot.

So the friends from UFO may have a lot of combinations. I don't think they are just something one and nothing else. We just don't have enough information for absolutely correct result.

I think they gave his character a bit more realistic-ness because what he said on horizon- while angry, was a perfectly reasonable response to what happened, and this letter is just a bit of his regret showing through, I think its pretty damn great to be honest.
