I had to make a rube goldberg machine in high school, it had to be 10 steps and I was baffled as to how hard it was to just create the 10 steps, and even after creating it, it would do all ten steps 1 out of like 20 tries, something would always go wrong.

It is truly amazing as to what they had achieved =].

I am glad they did a little background on the vid as while OK Go are certainly clever chaps, I had a hard time believing they could build a RGM this insane on their own. Neat "collabo". its probably because EMI wouldn't fund this video, they already did a video of the song, but it was disabled for embedding. This video, because it was funded outside, made it possible to be embeddable, and hence easy to transmit through the internet. Notice the RGM video got more views in 2 days than the marching band video in 3 months.

Interesting point. It may well be that the band sought sponsorship because of that but I meant that I found it odd that State Farm would sponsor this sort of project. Perhaps they are hoping we "hipster douches" will go "Hell yeah son, I'm insuring my singlespeed bike and my 2 bedroom apartment with the SF crew" ;)
