That's not quite true. He feels that currently, under the law, it's a states' rights issue, but he WOULD want a law (or Constitutional amendment) defining life as beginning at conception. This would reveal that abortion is a form of murder; so yes, states/districts would DEAL with it, as they currently deal with murder cases, but the inherent act of abortion would be nationally illegal.
If Paul is a closet fascist, as godnamedsushi has proposed, then he will have turned his back on decades of consistent votes and consistent character. You motto is that you can't read or listen clearly. After voting Republican for my whole life, I can't tell the difference between the other cantidates (republican or democrate) any more. Ron Paul stands out in his efforts to resore our constitution. Our slogan is "give me liberty."

why NOT to vote for obama:
-He wants to tighten canadian borders but says nothing about mexican borders(the REAL problem)
-He wants to bomb Pakistan which is garunteed to start war(why would he start war with pakistan if he weren't working with iran?!?!?!)
-He wants more immigrants coming in which will make us lose more money to cheap labor and exported american cash

Chris, that was an utterly outstanding video.
The two major positive things I'm taking away from this video is the quote: "Our founding fathers cherished liberty, not democracy.", and "Why don't the government put you on a diet, you are a little overweight."
Both lit light bulbs in my head. They are extremely valid, and thought provoking points.
This "<b><i>IS</b></i>" your best video and one of the best videos I've seen on YouTube in months.

Afterthought. I'm registered Democratic party. I'm no help to Ron Paul unless he wins the Republican nomination.
I wish him the best of Luck, and will vote for him if he wins the nomination, but I won't switch parties just for the primary.

I hope that many of us, if not all of us, can follow his example and lead -- and continue with the legacy, courage, and hope that he attempted to give us. Liberty was his mantra, and freedom was his heart. He will be sorely missed...

Health care stewardship is best trusted to health care CONSUMERS and health care PROVIDERS. While many Republicans have certainly fallen short of cutting the deficit, you'd find upon searching that they've ballooned the budget in defiance of Dr Paul's relentless opposition.

He has thought it through for the last 30 years he's preached it. Many people have thought it through, and its not radical any more than the Constitution is "radical." In essence he plans a phased elimination of useless programs, and will convince the American public why they didn't need or really want those programs. He convinced me already, and most of the people who hear his logic through and research it.

well, libertarians are a sort of two edged sword. take the good with the bad. they believe people should get active in local government, and shape thier states the way they think things should work instead of the Fed having thier fingers in EVERY thing.. so this means WE don't get as many government handouts, but at the same time, the average "tax paying" citizen has a little more money in thier pocket cuz the government isn't trying to cover all these stupid, useless programs.

The Ft Worth Straw poll will be next weekend, Aug 1st.
The RP meetups in Dallas/Ft. Worth are hitting the streets and plan to have a big presence at the straw. He'll be hosting a rally Friday night too with live music from Jimmie Vaughan.

We took out a henious dictator who we believed had weapons of mass destruction. Iraq had been on the radar for a long time even prior to 9/11. We created a nexus for the terrorists, and now we are fighting Al Queda in Iraq. Also, we have been killing many, many, many radical islamic soldiers. I think by the time we are done, it will be clear to any who are left that want to destroy us that attacking us will not go without consequence.

Since the Nazis and the Imperial Japanese both declared war on us, it seems likely that in those circumstances a President Paul WOULD have gone to war against the Axis (Congress willing). On the other hand, had he been in office, the situation may indeed have been different and no war would have been needed. Counter-factual history is an idle exercise of limited utility but endless fun.
