  • Terry Reid the most underrated artist of all time. but i can't help to wounder what led zeppelin would have been like if you did decided to take the lead singer role.

  • this song is for real

  • i first heard this on the devils rejects

  • Loved hearing Terry open for the Stones in Dallas.

  • very good!

  • WAY too long an intro. And no Plant's "whole career," was not based on Terry's vocal style, excellent though it is. For everyone that says Plant is the inferior - recall that Terry can't touch Plant's range.

  • This song is just absolute, beautiful perfection, it brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.

  • Best singers.

    Terry, Gillan, Plant.

  • amazing!!!!!!

  • nice song

  • That breakdown at the 2:07 mark is my PART!!!!

  • WOW is all i can say...im on a depressive kick tonight..this shit is off the hook...makes you think real hard...love it...

  • great song...this and seed ofd memory are awesome chillin songs..thanks for posting

  • How uncanny that the chord progressions in parts of this song resemble led zeppelins stairway to heaven

  • @coleenmccall This guy was supposed to be the original lead singer of Led Zep.... I think he turned the job down because he was touring with the Rolling Stones... funny that you noticed a similar sound... good ear.

  • Are 7 people deaf?

  • ya thats my bad i fucked up the order i am so high right now that i will probably forget that i posted this.

  • continued: Some of us are out to win And some of us are out just to wane Just out to maim Oh we are what we are when we're praying In our own way of seeking some light May the mission bell still ring Of the colourful dreams In the faith that everyone will be treated right will be treated right on a cold cold night will be treated right hell, i hope that everybody will be treated right, yeah will be treat right on a cold, cold, cold, night will be treated right
  • Oh we are what we are when in danger And we are as we stand head in hand When a friend brings to light On a cold silver knife You can stare your fate right into his hand -into his hand Oh we are what we are when we're made to Be the soul-owning guardians of land And there's always advice On a cold winter's night That your dreams are just an island in the sands Way out in the sand Don't it seem so strange How it just don't change, yeah Things just stay the same As they've always been
  • i think this song would have fit in red dead redemption nicely

  • love his music!

  • He is astonishing!

  • I'm 50 and have followed Terry all my life, just met a beautiful young girl in her 20's about to have a baby and she saw the original Seed of memory album on my wall. NEVER have I met someone that knows him and loves him as I do. WOW

  • 7 people aren't what we are.

  • @sns21274 ...you could have a guy (...or girl) that could make people get along with one hand and cure cancer with the other and there would still be "that" handful who would disagree!

  • 7 people still did not like this

those are not good people i´ll tell you that

  • mad song rob zombie did an awesome job really made you feel empathy for the supposed bad guys im sure alot of us would do it if there wasn't the fear of getting caught i know i would its good to see a movie where its not always a happy ending freebird also great:)

  • the seven ppl who disliked this song suck and have no taste in music, thumbs up if u agree!!!!!!!

  • Even as my woman is ralphing this song is so amazing.

  • this guy is a legend im surprised not many people have heard of him did you guys know he was meant to be the lead singer of Led Zeppelin but he declined because he wanted to be in a band with his mates what a legend!!!

  • One of my favorites thank u Rob Zombie for having good taste and putting this song in your movie.

  • Amazing tune, for some reason i always thought it was stephen stills who did it. Thanks for posting:}

  • I'd never heard this song until I saw The Devil's Rejects.Now I can't get enough of it.The lyrics...wow...

  • Hearing his first LP, He must have been an influence on Paul Rodgers. Page's loss,

no screaming from Terry. Wonder if he can still belt ten sylables per second, amazing-"Mr. Superlungs". Enjoy Real Talent.

  • Terry was originally asked to front Led Zep which he turned down. Imagine how much greater the band would have been with his talent!!

  • why would anyone dislike this

  • @24leatherface24 Because the poor dumb jerks have never been in danger or held their head in their hands.

  • one of the best songs ever made in the history of music..... EASILY.

  • This song reminds me of my ex-boyfriend...he played it for me one night..and I fell deeper in love with him as I did everytime I just looked at him..music has always been so important to us..Baby...I love you...I miss you...

  • great song, one of my faves!!!

  • EPIC song !

  • Man if I heard this back in 1973 when it first came out I can't imagine how much my mind would have been blown. I've only been listening to it religiously for about 5 years and I still can't get enough of it. Definitely brings me back in time.

  • mmmmmm damn this is good

  • One of the very few songs thats moved me. Beautiful.

  • 7 people accidentally hit the dislike button.

  • Otis Driftwood lives in the darkest corner of my mind

  • @lvpeckerwood Some of us r true 2 rselves..most not though...he lives within us all!

  • The Devil's Rejects "introduced" me to this song, I admit. That being said, I think it's one of the most profound songs I have heard.

  • Anyone know where I could find the music to the harmonica part??

  • @N208livi0N ,lol,im a devil,and i have done his work,

  • I've cried so many tears to this song, reminiscing over lost friends, family and just the pain in this world. Terry really feels what we all feel...at least in his songs...

  • so beautiful !!!!!!

  • My favorite thing about Terry Reid is that when The Yardbirds became Zeppelin he couldn't join so he was like "Hey, why don't you get this kid that sounds almost like me anyway". Just funny to me.

  • very underapreciated treasure

  • Why didn't i hear from this man before?! amazing!

  • glad to see terry reid getting all these hits. we saw him open for cream and the rolling stones. there was so good music then he never got his due respect then.

  • He was offered to be the voice of zeppelin and deep purple on separate occasions but chose to stay solo. This is , hands down, one of the most awsome songs that has ever been written. The 7 people who disliked this, simply put, are fuckin retarded and obviously don't know what good music is!

  • Comment removed

  • ive heard he was supposed to be the voice of zeppelin before plant

  • This is one of the last songs I learned on the guitar before neuropathy damaged my fingertips. Sadly I never recorded a version... It's a great song.

  • This is another good song for your Chirstmas day

  • This sound has touched a raw nerve.

  • haha its funny how the tilte say very high quality when its only 360p lol FAIL

  • Terry's voice (especially this song) just literally grabs and opens all of my most inner feelings and comes pouring out!!! Damn you Terry .... look what you've done ... and I thank you! I pour a shot of whiskey and toast you sir! As Neil Young had put it ... long may you and your music run sir... and it will!

  • I recently find out about Terry accidentally on you tube when I looked up the tune "Speak now or forever hold your peace" but through Cheap Trick .... when I hooked up with Terry's version I was even more hooked (though I love Trick) I then started listening to his other tunes and especially this one! My GOD ... I will never be the same regarding soul/ blues/ folk music again! Terry is one of... if not, the best I heard in voice and feelings! I just can't get enough ... I gotta see him play!

  • The greatest known-unknown ever

  • thumbs up if the devils rejects sent you here:)

this is one of the most beautifull songs i've ever heard...

  • @MRKanister2006 Let em know. That movie is amazing, and I'm being as modest as I can be. My favorite movie, seriously. Still...this song may be better than that movie. Just beautiful, and true...

  • @MRKanister2006 hell yea devil's rejects introduced me to terry reid and all his great music

  • @MRKanister2006 agreed

  • @MRKanister2006 Yeah... The Devils Rejects send me here...I loved the film (I mean I REALLY loved the film!) and this song just kept playing in my head!

  • If you haven't heard Terry's recent stuff you owe it to yourself - he still sounds like himself even though he sounds understandably older - and fuck me dead if I'm a liar, he's sounding fucking incredible too.

  • @muddy2 No one can fault you for thinking Terry is as great as ever. Age happens, but this man is immortal. I hope to God he lives longer than me, because, i can't live without him.

  • this is officially the best song ever.

    thank you rob zombie.

  • For some reason, this seems to be my FAVorite .....

just out to aim..... (love the harmonics, GROUP!)....

Love the muse. Love this song recording and Mr. TJR!

    Happity birthday!

    Jessie

  • he turned down jimmy page because of legal issues with his manager/label. he really got fucked and by the time it was settled, he lost his momentum and never made it to the status he should have had

  • Jimmy Page was looking at several different members than the ones that wound up being The New Yardbirds/ Led Zeppelin, basically headhunting for the best people. The lineup in his head was always changing because people were politely turning him down, or were unavailable. Yes Reid did suggest that Page check out Robert Plant, which of course meant the connection to John Bonham as result. But to say Terry Reid was almost the singer in Led Zeppelin is incorrect, he turned down the gig. Love Terry!

  • Terry , du hast alle übertroffen, das ist eines der besten Lieder die je geschrieben / gesungen wurden. RESPECT :-)

  • Hip Hip Hoo Rob!!!1

  • Rob Zombie got me in 2 terry reid and now im happy.

  • I too would not of had the pleasure of hearing this incredible artist without the help of Rob Zombie. What an amazing singer song writer. And what an amazing ending scene from The Devils Rejects with this song. WOW

  • One afternoon after a long day at work, I came home turned on the TV and promptly fell asleep. I woke up sometime later.. and this song was playing (I'd not seen The Devil's Rejects yet, and it came on whilst I slept). I lay there with my eyes closed, totally sbsorbed. It was without a doubt the best musical experience of my life.

  • Kind of sounds like the guy from shine down.

  • @greenbay357 shinedown sucks terry reid is on a way better level and way more talented straight up

  • BEST SINGER SONG WRITER EVER

  • truly epic xxx

  • Thanks Rob, I doubt I would ever been introduced to this without ya.

  • Looking forward to seeing TR this month at The Turning Point....thanks for the up!

  • WTF! Doesn't anyone else hear the obvious rip off of the opening, as it builds ,of this song by Terry (released in 1969 approx) and the AOR monster DITW by Kansas in the late 70's. Go ahead & "A B" them. Terry they owe you a nice check .AND an apology. As for the shitstorm, Kansas pp's.go ahead , there nothing I would like better than to prove it over over & over ....

  • @EKJunction I don't think it's close enough for a lawsuit, but I never noticed before that yeah, this song does have a very similar feel to Dust in the Wind. They may very well have ripped it off, although a lot of acoustic music in the early 70s had a feel like that.

  • @instereovideos Thanks ..anytime anyone get's a chance too see Terry LIVE-do so .Don't wait to say yeah he was something wasn't he....it's important to as James Taylor once sang "...shower the people that you love with love...' Peace

  • Back in the 70s I dismissed Rerry Reid as a nonentity that critics made too much of a fuss over. WHAT WAS I THINKING? This is wonderful.

  • this is what i call real music <333

    fuck todays shit!

  • Best pat: 0:07 - 5:52

  • @gio73vanna ah they are just young angry and don't understand the depth of this amazing song

  • This bowl is for the Firefly clan...

  • it's driving me insane. WHY?!? do people look back on old music and do the "should have, if, would have been" crap? it's the "never was" that adds to the beauty. how about we learn to look at music for what it is..... instead of pretending that something magical happens to it just because it is old. all we have is here and now. stop pretending that there and then is more important, because it is all relative. i dont care if this song came out yesterday by my mother. it's till good.

  • @ChayDawg64 A little added context if i may-.Lyrics as personal as these were a marked departure from the average pop song of my "greatest generation".parent's.One thought these things but never dared to voice them -in reality or in song.So this period ,for reasons too numerous, was revolutionary. In my early teens, did not want to acknowledge anything that went before my era, the"Now" was all that mattered. So it comes full circle-your time is now - move the signposts.Peace.

  • @TumbrelJockey so what do i do?

  • @ChayDawg64 If you're a musician /artist ? "Translate" this shit for the rest of us ! or create a new language. I don't want to come off like some Zen master WTB, but it is all within you.Remember what Chevy Chase said in Caddyshack ? "See ...the ball -Danny....BE ....the ball" ?

  • @ChayDawg64 Couldn't leave it as it is w/ out saying that you obviously appreciate this powerful, beautiful song from a long time ago One human's voice out of billions.Terry's.His passion is rooted in honesty -being "real'.I think that could be your clue.Peace

  • Terry Reid was actually responsible for introducing Robert Plant to Jimmy Page. :)

  • I tear up a little everytime I hear this song.

  • I've just got the creeps.
