I'm using the setup I listed in the video info --->
on a Sherline 4400 lathe. Further testing shows that EMC will need a little more work to thread at lower spindle speeds, my 10RPM difference between commanded and actual no-load speed makes the carriage surge a bit. Using a SECOND encoder with 20 or so pulses per rev would help a lot.
Very nice! A setup like this is something I am seriously considering and I am pleased to see that results like this are possible.

Did you start w/ hex bar stock? The threads look great to me! The end scared me too, thought it was going to crash or foul the threads.
