Shit you are so on it. I'm a sculptor. Every body i have contacted about my work i have immediately sent them my link. Yes i have started badly and expected them to help me out. Of course said how much i like their own work but truly i was trying to just use them and get them to post a link to me. I need to think this out more carefully. Thanks for your warning re facebook. I can see what you mean. Regards Spencer
@paulajanefish Don't sweat it just move on. If you help others they help you back. But you have to do it without expecting anything. Sounds paradoxical but that's how it works.
I put my company in Linkedin but it didn't work for me... had loads of problems with sending invitations. Some of my clients were complaining because they were sending non stop invitations, I tried everything to stop the invitations going on and it didnt work, finally i had to close my account... ¬_¬'
@psychogundamjavelin Sounds like you have a bug in your social media wigdet on your blog/site. Pick a different one or see if your site/widgets/plugins need to be updated.
At my channel you can find millions of email list for sale witch can be used to promote various things:blog, sites, business, products,You Tube channels, clients for your products.
Email Marketing is the cheapest way to promote something or to find clients.
Yes: use their main categories, submit tons of sites but never your own, pick friends with high compatibility, and vote each other's stuff up (but don't submit your own content to SU).
Not necessarily. When I made this video I wasn't into Twitter. Generally, Twitter and StumbleUpon have been the best for me, but your mileage may vary.
If you have not heard yet, there is now a new p2p network that was just launched named Global Herald Network that is designed to help people exchange information regarding anything such as questions, ideas, products and services with peers all over the world right from their desktop. This is an incredible and efficient concept this new p2p network.
It is definitely a waste of time. Why spend that time on another persons website, giving them more traffic when you could be spending it on your own site.
Probably one of the biggest dilemmas that I have is, should I let people find me or should I go out and find the people. My searching for others does bring in traffic short term but in the long term most of those people don't visit the site again.
Shadowfan, great question. If you're kinda new, you generally need to make the effort to hook up with other people.
But by forming genuine relationships with other bloggers and always providing value to them with every interaction, you will build your audience by building your network.
It's a longer road, but eventually you reach a critical mass (a tipping point, if you will) where your audience and your network promote you.
I love the video/SlideCasts route you're taking with Remarkablogger, it shakes up the mindless reading that sometimes results from reading blog after blog.
Thanks jfh, the SlideCasting thing is fun, but as with most multimedia, it's also time-consuming. Some things work really well for that format, so it's great to have that choice.
LOL - Damn right it is. It was going, anyway. Then when I got new glasses I decided to go for a new look. Now I do everything much faster, because I'm more aerodynamic.
@bothsidesofthecoin1 Watch the video before you comment. It helps prevent you from looking stupid.

can you get a lot of traffic from just posting a lot of good posts?
BenedictHudson 3 years ago
Nope. Getting traffic involves more than just good writing. You have to connect and network with other people.

...or rather,
Q:"How to promote your blog using social media."
A: By promoting yourself.
But I guess that title isn't as eye catching. ;o)
