  • @Peppilii1 needle is harder - you have to lift your leg - with the other one you can press against the ground

  • Okay i need to know how to do this for my sport, i can pretty much do the forwards splits on the floor, but when i try a needle my leg doesnt go any higher than a 135degree angle, i cant use a wall cuz i end up going into a handstand, my leg just refuses to go up but i know it can. Very frustrating XD Hope you can help and sorry for the paragraph.

  • @cutecupcakes0 That is a different move - where you hold your arms out at the side and go down as if going into a needle - but you don't put your hands on the floor

  • Idk about this, its that some people are good at 1 split (like me im good at the side split) next thing you know you try the middle split and you cant do it

    Same thing with 2 of my friends, they do the middle split (almost) but they cant do the side split.

  • @dancingfreak138 it just takes practice - you can also work on your over splits

  • @fitforafeast Omg thank you so much!!! The other day i was bending down to get something and I put one leg in the air!!! I can also do the splits, cartwheel, one-handed cartwheel, jete, traveling russian, backbend, heel strech, scorpian, scale, and handstand!! Thank you!!!

  • @purelles ask someone to spot you & hold your leg in the right position - that will help you get used to how to hold it - you can also practice against the wall to push your leg up

  • @Chimoltrufiorex Needle is harder because you have to lift your leg up - splits you can press against the floor. You will get it with practice :)

  • @cutiepie2180 Needles are harder because you have to lift it yourself. Try the exercise against the wall & just practice. You can also get a friend to help push your leg up & hold it there

  • Your parents are amazing. You girls seem so well rounded! Not only are you guys talented because your parents signed you up for all these lessons, they will also benefit you very much when you get older. You can easily get into a preforming arts high school! Unlike you guys, I have no talent! I can't do a thing! Not even a split. Thankfully, you're vids will help but I think its too late for me to seriously take gymnastics and dance, I'm already 15.

  • I'd just like to point out that a needle is also referred to as a 6 o'clock. I know it's kinda random but I didn't know what the video was about in reading the title. That's just how I learned it. I know it doesn't really matter but in my opinion I find it kind of interesting to find out alternate names for steps.

  • @popx598 It is harder than the splits because you have to lift & hold the leg in the air. You need to work on your splits first & then you can practice these - & try the stretches against the wall

  • @iluvdancegym Try to get someone to help lift your leg or try balancing it against a wall or couch

  • @iluvdancegym When you're in the needle, pull your hands right by your feet and make sure you're looking at your knee. It helps to put your nose to your knee, that will pull your leg up higher.
