  • nile monitors grow to 9 feet

  • Nice set up

  • so cool

  • Nice setup!

  • Cool is the water warm

  • whats the care

  • @MrLeopardgeckofreak Well they need a lot of special care but the biggest factor is that they will need a very large area to live in since they grow up to 9 feet. This video was a very young baby.

  • what size tank is that

  • does he eat the fish

  • how often do u change the dirt

  • how do you get the water out the cage to clean the water

  • cool so what are you gonna do when it gets like 7 feet long? we had to build a custom cage for it

  • Could this work for a columbian black and white tegu??

  • @MrCorey1308 a tegu could only live in this size enclosure for maybe a few months at most. they grow up to 4 feet. also if you were going to get a tegu, i dont recommend columbians. they are known for being pretty aggressive and hard to tame, which is why they are so cheap compared to argentines. tegu's would need a lot more floor space than that though since the nile monitor likes water more. a tegu needs a 6'x3'x2' enclosure at the very least, but 8x4x3 is ideal for one.

  • is a monitor the first kind of lizard u got

  • 1 Word: EPIC

  • dude that is fucking legit madd props.

  • THATS AWESOME :)

  • Very cool.

  • Does he eat the fish

  • does your monitor go to the bath room in the water? if so how difficult is it to clean it?

  • beautiful setup

  • beautiful setup!

  • looks a bit hard for the thing to get out of the water

  • hey nice semi aquatic setup for your nile. my setup is very similar.

    hows he doing thus far?

  • how did you get the glass to seperate the land from the water, please tell me how u did it be discriptive :)

  • @giovannimartinezm5 I used a piece of Plexiglas cut it then used aquarium safe silicone to seal it

  • @MrDanielbeaubien omg thank ou so much! and lol i have that same waterfall its just a pain in the ass how i have to use all that gravel... so water dosnt leak onto land, and just woundering is that plexy glass extreamly sturdy? ohh and where did u buy plexiglas from?

  • @giovannimartinezm5 a hard ware store its expensive

  • @MrDanielbeaubien I torched my plexi glass so it wasn't so plain. Now it's all wavy and fun haha!

  • lol 0:00-0:05 i was like omfg are u kidding me!?!?! thats all you have where the damn land!!!!! 0:06..... ohhh... thank god :D had me scared there

  • how often do you have to replace the water if you have a filter?

  • @wilomh i usually change it about once a week at the least

  • i usually have a towel over it but thank you,

i had to sell him when i moved. he was 4 feet of terror =)

  • @MrDanielbeaubien

    any other video?

its sad because that particular species is one of the nicest to keep when they are young.not many guys can keep them when they are adult

  • Hi Daniel, nice to see you got the monitor! I thought you would know though, the mesh screen is letting out most of the humidity and much of the heat. (murrindindi).

  • would be a 10 out of 10 scores without the ugly green garavel

  • @arcand88 Oh i know. it was the best one theu had at the moment.

  • Sick tank dude, what did you use to divide the land and water¿

  • great idea man i like how u did your tank, half land half water. i seen another vid of some dummy who used pebbles sort of like a beach but it really dosent meet the monitors need but after seeing yours i am working on something similar but adding my own twist. ill be getting a camera soon hopefully you'll check out my enclosure once im done, after all your enclosure is my inspiration

  • @MrMoneyman140 Thanks Man i appreciate it, message me when it's done and i'll take a look

  • are u using a under water heater

  • @MrMoneyman140 no His Heat keeps the water warm.

  • Does that filter work good? Like keep the water crystal clear and shit cause I'm thinking of getting it for my semi aquatic Nile setup. Please let me know thanks.

  • dood my nile is so nice, i dont understand i receved him from LLL reptile , yesterday and is not mean or anything like that, and when i stick my hand in his cage he licks me than steps onto my hand and he just chills on my shoulder.

  • Great setup! :D

  • arent u scared he mite eat the gravel

  • thats a pretty sick setup dude. im gettin my water monitor soon nd was gunna do the half land half aqautic thing but decided to just get a 3'x2' plastic container from target. it certainly does the job

  • hay im thincking about geting 1 what is the temp on hot and cold side?

  • Did you get this idea form my video?

  • @turdspooning I've never seen your video, it was old when i posted it, he is now over 4 feet long

  • i have the same setup for my water monitor

  • i had a setup just like this how do you keep the dirt out of the water?

  • hey that looks like a good set up i dont really understand how you filter the water though, I just put my 9 month old nile into a 75 gal and wanted to make it semi-aquatic but i am not sure about filtering the water with him getting it so dirty with substrate. what kinda filters you look for. and his poop make the filters disgusting quick or it isnt a very big deal? thanks

  • there are filters in the water fall and i clean them everyday, its very simple and fats

  • @angusrock you better use a canister filter.

  • yeah.. I have a nile monitor..thats very agressive...I'm tryin my best to tame them down

  • dude.. please tell me how u got this devider for ur 55gal..I wanna know how you did it...and where did u get it from

  • i got like a acylic plastic from home depot and used aquarium safe 100% silicone, do you have a nile or a water?

  • Y didn't u use bark it's not as loose and it's easy to clean.I had the same problem with my Bosc monitor he would allways bring his sub in with his water and would have to clean it alot but then I switched to Aspen and problem solved

  • It did, but when the lizard would get out of the water go into the land he would bring his substrate with him and it would clog the filters and I had to clean it multiple times a day

  • did the fillter not clean it good enuf ? .it looked very nice tho

  • i dont have that set up anymore, i ended up having to clean it multiple times a day, so i drained it and put forest floor in as the substrate, he likes that alot netter because he burrows and makes tunnels, and no he didnt eat the fish lol =(

  • That my friend is a sweet set up .does ur Nile ever eat the fish ???

  • thats a sick ass setup dude

  • nice dude, nice to see sum1 besides me thinks outside the box, i recently moved my niles to one of my back bedrooms and i will convert that into their room.. u should put some type of hide in the water, they love to kickback in the water. and put rocks leading up to the water level on the glass side to make it easier for him to get out of the water
