Which is best for cruising around town? Dervish or vanguard? And I was thinking of getting Bear 852's with them and what wheels? Also if you think that the bear's aren't the best please tell me some other good trucks. You said the gull wing but I don;t know. Could you be a little specific? Im 5'9 130lbs free riding around town and some sliding later on. Also maybe some dancing. Maybe.
@coolerthenu123 Not really. But I did the same when I started. I bought a crappy board. But eventually you will just end up Upgrading to a better board. Next time borrow a friends then buy a good board.
@grassmonkeybutt there is more to consider, if you live in an urban environment then it would be better to get a smaller deck board and definitely with soft weals for when going over bumps in pavement, also they are easy to transport, you can run easily with then, but if you live in a rural environment where the roads might not be as smooth then you will want to get a bigger deck because it will make it more conformable when cruising. but the best thing is to test different boards to get a feel.
Hey dude, I uploaded some videos in Central Park, we meet every Monday at 5:30 pm at the fountain by Columbus Circle. If you want to join us you know what to do.
I'm from the UK too but I live in CT. do you do it every week? I might come down someday after school with some friends if you don't mind. Makes me feel lucky to live in this area with all the great terrain around.

MrHockeykid21 7 months ago
@MrHockeykid21 yep, they're fine.
maybe not the best size if you ride over really rough cracked paving though, but they'll do for most places.

@Mattmeo11 either board would be fine, but with the dervish you could topmount if you wanted to try it.
any 50* + truck would be fine in my opinion, but bushings make all the difference.
just get a board, learn to ride & you'll figure things out as you go along, just don't forget to wear a helmet.

Loaded Dervish With 180mm Paris Trucks and 76mm gumballs is a good setup, and also 180mm randals and 76mm orangtangs

hey there!
what kind of wheels should a newbie
stick with?
and in what aspect does the size of the
wheels influence a ride?
thanks! =)
freakyhAshy 2 years ago
you want the biggest wheels that can fit on your board =]
if you have a cut our board like the dervish then i would go for 75mm
Eddie4sale 2 years ago
whats the best longboard to buy if you just want to go cruising.
plz respond back im planing on getting one.Peace
grassmonkeybutt 3 years ago
I'm a big fan of the loaded boards, mostly due to how light & agile they are with the right setup.
That's just my personal opinion so it's biased :D
Vanguard or Dervish board
Gullwing 10" Chargers trucks
Gumballs/Bigzigs/70mm Zigzags, all wheel's i'd recommend from personal use.
AnjoK84 3 years ago
@AnjoK84 i have Gullwing Sidewinder Trucks they are much better then the Chargers so i would recommend those
