  • Is this show about a man that died and went to hell?

  • " i havnt seen it no, is it any good"

    "naaa it's shit!"

    lmao

  • Horrible cunt that bloke who's Andy's enemy. Very well played by the actor.

  • Merchant's Darren Lamb attempt to pick up the 2 munters from 2:00 - 3:00 is the funniest minute of comedy I've seen in a long, long time. Genius.

  • makes me laugh the way Bowie just bursts out in song whilst Ricky's bearing his soul to him :L

  • every fucking episode, they call him 'Barry off Eastenders' hahaha

  • I love how Count Fuckula continues to hump away right up until the credits roll

  • I fucking love David Bowie

  • Those fans in the pub were incredibly creepy.

  • Often the most depressing comedies are the best ones. In fact, every sitcom I love is pretty depressing, Peep Show, Black Books, 15 Storeys High, The Office UK and so on. It's comedy that people can relate to because it's the real tough life with ups and mostly downs. For me, pretty much a depressed loser in real life, this kind of comedy is really comforting in a way.

  • Walnut.

  • Why would a bunch of deadbeats be drinking in a pricey London bar? :g

A trip to Asda and a park bench would be more their scene.

  • @6:01: Wait, was there always a piano there? That totally took me by surprise. But more importantly... DAVID BOWIE SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!

  • I love how oddly touching the ending is.

  • Tragedies are comedies, I think thats the point.

  • I like Fatso!

  • "leave it" haha I love how Barry is so passionate about pubs closing down

  • Count Fuckula is The Man!!!

  • The song that Bowie does is more catchy than anything he's done in 30 years.

  • @michaelleacy See "Pigeon street" theme tune

  • @michaelleacy Are you havin' a laugh?

  • @michaelleacy and yet it was probably ricky gervais who wrote it! RG is thus a genius on many levels.

  • It would be a great honour for me to have David Bowie create and perform a song about how ugly and unwanted I am.

  • This is a fucking tradegy, not a comedy.

  • I love how dickish all the celebrities are in this show.

  • chubby little loser no not chubby little loser pathetic little fat man yeah thats it hahahahaha nearly pissed myself

  • No it's shit

  • Isn't that Katie Wix from Not Going Out

  • Poor Andy!!!! lol

  • David Bowie=Made of win <3 Laughed my bloody arse off.

  • i fucking love david bowie so much

  • What a cunt Linda is... look at her face at 6:55.

  • the guy with the long hair reminds me of gareth from the office

  • Greatest cameo in any medium ever.

  • woow very flight of the conchords the david bowie starting to sing bit

  • @Gwenjane11 You realize that "Extras" was made years before "Flight of the Conchords," and "Flight of the Conchords" is partially inspired by David Bowie's music, right?

  • @FuzzyDuck yeah well, but so? was just saying it reminded me of fotc. not that i think extras stole this from fotc or something...

  • @Gwenjane11 Yeah, I thought so. Just checking. :) You'd be surprised what some people think on YouTube.

  • David Bowie's part was hilarious. <X'D God, this show's so depressing.

  • Your shows shit mate!

  • 'Yeah it's brilliant Linda..'

  • steve merchant is such a good actor.

  • Kick the arse in the balls.

  • that count f**kula fella is seriously creepy

  • did anyone else see the christmas special and feel like suicide? seriously.

on a lighter note; "When I see something, I've GOT to fuck it. I never stop!"

  • I'd buy this song.

  • we make comedy so cruel because we recognize life is cruel, and tragic and comic

  • Barry trying to harmonize :L

  • bowie's friend is so hot!

  • lololololololololololololoololololololololooooollllolololol

  • wow, this is actually deep. it seems like the show is based on ricky's career.

  • @7RaPeKiNg7 no shit

  • When I first watched this show I tought this was a light comedy with some bitter-sweet moments, but now I'm thinking: This show is fucking depressing. Often Funny, but fucking depressing

  • @matrat57 I don't know about depressing. I think it's a really well written comedy because it's not just some 2 dimensional fart joke kind of comedy. The writing kind of mixes between a comdey and a really good drama.

  • @lifewithconor I didn't say it was not good. this is actually my favorite serie (I even liked it more than the office personally, but still this is my personal taste) I'm just sayin I didnt tought it would be that much dramatic when I first watched it, and no I didn't expect fart jokes kind of comedy. I think the clip above nicely shows what I'm talking about: Bowie singing along with the whole pub about how much Gervais suck, in front of the guy who always wanted to make him feel like crap...

  • @matrat57 Sadly true. Satire is often cynical. It reflects the cruel ficklety of fame. As Elvis Costello once sang "Yesterday's news is tomorrows fish and chip paper".

  • @matrat57 it's not even real

  • @babidaboopy no shit...

  • @matrat57 So don't start weeping about it..

  • @babidaboopy Ok, so because it's fictionnal it means we can't have any emotion related to it. Sorry, I didn't know I was supposed to watch it without any emotion and just enjoy seeing moving pictures. I correct my comment than: Show good. Image moving. Fun, dah. If you can'T enjoy a well scripted and well acted serie with truthful meanings and critic view on the television industrie and the struggling of friendship that comes with fame, than go watch barney the dinosaure and leave me alone.

  • @matrat57

dont think it's depressing. It shows very truthful moments about the situations but it's not depressing.

  • @RDprodx Truth is sometimes (often) depressing

  • @matrat57 But real mate. It's always real, never takes the easy way out, the sentimental, happy ending route.

  • Why do Brits have to make comedy so cruel? I feel so guilty about watching it.. Not that I can stop.. Can't see it, can't look away either

The faraway expression on Count F**kula's face is priceless

  • @abhinavc It's called satire, it's what the british do better than anyone

  • brilliant brilliant brits comedy

  • "So do I, it's brilliant Linda."

    Brilliant comedy acting. :)

  • How depressing.

  • i loved it when barry went 'we are the world ' on that song

  • Such a good ending how he ends up with those who adore him, yet he can't stand. Very well written.

  • David Bowie is awesome.

  • I always feel quite emotional at the end of each episode

  • I love the David Bowie song.

  • @vipersquad .... Well sorry to break it to you, but Bowie is an inspiration to ALOT of people (obviously not you though). You're right- he can't be compared to those people because his style is completely different. So I wouldn't be effing talking, man. Why don't you go die in a hole so no one has to listen to you insult a great man with GROUNDBREAKING music, you moron!?!?!?

  • @CheetahLuver12 Yes he is an inspiration to alot of people, but yes he CAN be compared to those people because they are all musicians. if you analze these musicians, there's no comparison. Mathimatically speaking - it's addition compared to trigonometry. Bowie's good at what he does, but it's still child's play.

  • @JohnnnyButtons whatever, johnny. his music is NOT child's play. and no, he can't be compared to anyone else. he is his own person. and so are those other people. at the time i was being ignorant, i admit it. but really, no one should be compared to one another, unless he/she had a famous sibling that had similar work. sorry i was being an ass hole, i was in a really crappy mood that day.

  • david still looks and sounds amazingly beautiful <3

  • I do appreciate Gervais has a persona different from the Brent one, this not ending up trapped in the Brent persona.

  • this show is depressing yet hilarious

  • epic song :D

  • aww i like that ending :)

  • Im watching the whole extra series for the third time now and still Im laughing out loud. Damn ricky you are teh master.

  • Ricky Gervais is a f-ing genius!!!

  • its like an english curb your enthusiasm

  • love the theme tune as well at the end

  • Is it any good? (No it's shit).. lol

  • would david bowie be a cunt?

  • @TheDEATHSTARIII

i don't think he's capable of being a cunt, but if you watch the series all the celebs are fucking mad xD

  • Wish everyone would stop bullying Andy, I just want to hug him :(

  • I love how that Subscribe bubble hides the title every fuckin time

  • @3eau2aniel i know, it's so annoying

  • cause if i see something ive just got to fuk it

  • That Bowie can write a tune huh?

  • This show is heartbreaking.

  • you know what? I WANT David Bowie to release the single of "little fat man who sold his dream"

    LOOL it's gonna be a best-selling 100% guaranteed

  • i felt bad for Andy :<

  • icon works as a term. Bowie has a real persona that appeals to many people. As a songwriter/musician I don;t agree that the merits of music are subjective. Believe it or not, music has many laws like science. Whether an individual LIKES the music yes is totally subjective. A young guy can love death metal--that's subjective--but it has little music in it--rythm, melody, or harmony---but one can like it.

  • @hillarychapman1 Music is 100% subjective... Laws and science put aside its al about what you like..

  • @hillarychapman1 I agree 100% with what you've been saying. Bowie's persona is inclusive to his fame. As for his actual work: "tantamount to genius" in the past 35 years? I'm sorry, no. He's just been writing verse-chorus-verse-chorus-verse-chorus for 35 years. The praise for his "reinventions" are due to changes to his fashion and the technology of his music, not to the actual structure of his music. Bowie's music (not the man himself) has no place among Chopin's, Monk's, Ellington's, etc.

  • @vipersquad you are completely correct here. Bowie works with just the basics when it comes to music, but 99% of people here will never understand this unfortunetely.

  • Calling DAvid Bowie a genius (in music) is such an overstatement that it's worthy of being in the script..

  • @hillarychapman1

I would love to know your idea of music genius - I bet you are a legend in your own mind.

  • @Mucky1little2me3 beethoven, chopin, Parker, Ellington, Monk, Johnny Hodges etc...David Bowie is a very charismatic performer with excellent sidemen which has made him famous but theatricality and fame are not equivalent to "musical genius" but words like 'genius' are thrown around so much in the US that it's meaningless

  • @hillarychapman1

I agree genius is a much over used word just like everything remotely decent has to be awesome.

In which case we are talking about what accolade best describes his talent and how best to express his achievements as a musical performer and entertainer Personally I consider Bowie an icon and feel he is right up there with the best.

As for the power and technical merit of his music that is surely subjective but the way he has reinvented himself and his music is worthy of respect.

  • Love the way Greg was holding on to that review just in case he met Andy - shows what an utter shit he is

  • hahahaha that was excellent, cant believe it took me this long to start watching this show

  • I think you have to levee some of the genius of comedy here in the situation portrayed at the end of this episode when AM rejected by those of his peers seeks the adoration of the idiots at the pub he thought previously too good for, yes they were idiots but they loved him, no critique, no back stabbing, they gave him the reasons to write, unconditional, simple, now we are the idiots in the youtube public bar quoting lines from the real show, life imitating art, i love you Ricky.

  • maximum value of 15 pounds lmao

  • I love how this ending is so touching, yet we see Count Fuckula enthusiastically thrusting away at the table as the camera pans out.

  • @Zorg2006 Dont really think the ending is touching, more so depressing

  • it's brilliant how Extras manages to combine the tragic and the comic

  • Comment removed

  • 'Fatso, I like fatso.' lol

  • count fuckular

  • god do i love david bowie.....sexayyyyy beast there

  • @luckysunshine21 I like his music, but he is scary looking.

  • God I love David Bowie.

  • David's looking reall good here!! YUM

  • chubby little loser lol

  • So desperate to be loved he settles for the losers in the pub. Tragic lol

  • nah, its not about that. its the fact the 'losers' in the pub are real, and not a bunch of bullies & up their own arses like in celeb bar.

  • Andy just wasted his own 60 to get humiliated by Bowie......ha..ha.

  • Is the black bouncer the pornstar omar?

  • @joop1977 no. but he was a gladiator in a programme about pompeii.

  • @joop1977 No it's his twin brother Ramo.

  • CHUBBY LITTLE LOSER !!LMAO

  • Its horrible everyone is a fucking asshole.... :((

  • those guys are so smooth

  • "Yes Linda, I like that."

  • "fatso, I like fatso"

  • LOL. Ricky Gervais is always really insecure about his weight and he's not even that fat! He's just got a bit of that typical middle-aged English beergut - it's not like he's John Goodman or something.

  • David Bowie lol Wuzza Wuzza Wuzza

  • From Adam and Joe?

  • "Umm Betty.. The cat's just shat out the worst sitcom of all time"

  • Stephen Merchant is a legend haha!

  • chill oot. Tis funny with an emotional vien and real characters.

  • This episode is a dream and this entire series is brilliant, I adore the fact that there are no opening credits and that the ending is such a sad song, it's BRILLIANT!!!!!!!! There's so much genius in this thing. <3

  • What's with the slow framing- are you having a laugh?

  • I love how delighted Maggie is by the song Bowie writes.

  • I love how un-phased Maggie is by all the celebrities in the show.

  • I think that last part where he hangs about the low brow group of misfits is kind of sweet, because you can tell he's so desperate to be accepted by anyone.

  • ahahaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    pathetic lil fat man xDDD

  • I hope the asshole guy in this is real in Ricky's life, so that in the real world, ricky can laugh at him about the fact that he's hugely successful.

  • me too. me too... we all know one of those cunts in real life.

  • its brilliant Linda

  • @AnsellsBrewery and it's guys like you call women who aren't interested at all 'pricktease" who give guys a bad name. They weren't even being friendly.

  • Poignant brilliance. The last 5 mins of that could be as good as it will ever get in entertainment. Thankyou Ricky.

  • That scene and the one from The Office, when Brent is playing his acoustic guitar. Both unforgettable.

  • Why's Gervais so hung up on his weight? Enough already.

  • I love this sitcom. But it is such a depressing sitcom lol, not depressing as in it is bad, but depressing when you feel sorry for Andy Millman because it's a character you can relate to. This sitcom really sends out a message about the real world.

  • i hate his enemy so much!!!

  • I feel so sorry for Andy after what happened 2 him with David Bowie

  • well he learned his lesson ;)

  • Yeah, that was absurdly harsh.

  • "You 'avin a laugh?"

    "Alright, mate."

    "Sitcom's shit, mate!"

"Ooh he changed his tune... why's...he..."

  • do you wear the same sequence space suit or do you have several ch-ch-ch- changes

  • Wanker.

  • ha dat was awesome!

  • 7:42 with Barry singing ROFL!!!

  • sumone start a petition to get karl on tv more!

  • Do you use your pointy nipples as attenia transmitting data back to earth?

  • i bet you do... you freaky old bastard you.....

  • The funniest chapter...and the saddest ending

  • ...am i the only one that just wants andy to stand up and twat bowie one?

even if it means missing the song, i just wish he'd hit him

  • I really do.

  • i love the song at the end, it really fits the show

  • LOVE DAVID BOWIE!!

  • haha i love barry

  • Why are so many of these second season videos playing at about 5fps?

  • I haven't got a clue, poor encoding on either the up loader's side or youtube's I assume. Either way it is rather annoying lol.
