Paul Simon also appeared on the 12/8/1990 broadcast of SNL, so I think that's when they actually met, not during this one two years earlier.

@darrenhenderson3 there is no other show. Her wikipedia entry is wrong . This is the show where she met Paul Simon. At 1.39 marker she forgets her lines as she sees him for the first time behind the camera.

They are both still married and have 3 children together. I am a huge Paul Simon fan and am becoming a huge Edie Brickell fan. Any friend of Pauls is a friend of mine. She is very pretty and very talented obviously.

@1970datsun510 I think this would be another instance where wikipedia is wrong, this song was near or at the top of the charts in 88. I don't think snl would have had her sing this 2 years later. Just a guess.

Her popularity didn't die. She's singing this song facing Paul Simon, who met her on this show and they got married. She's been raising their kids and was growing tired of the ratrace crap from being "famous". She's now putting out other albums and doesn't really care if she's popular or not. A great lady with a great voice and a solid sense of what matters to her.
