  • a possible reason is in case one breaks down, there are some pretty remote areas along that line. I know the Via rail canadian has more then one, even when sometimes it only needs one, is because of the remote areas.

  • Thanks very interesting! Thanks for that. It makes sense

  • @trainguyONR no problem

  • Nice! One question: why does such a short rake need 2 locos?

  • Good question, I think it has something to do with wyeing the train at Moosonee. It's easier to just add 2 locos

  • @trainguyONR Hmm..ok :) Because many of the US passenger train videos I've seen have two locomotives even for small rakes, including the Amtrak. Was a bit puzzled :)

  • Yeah thats true, to be honest I don't really know the answer lol :)

  • @trainguyONR LOL :D Here in India there are two reasons why a train may bet twin locos, but the catch is here we also have 500m long 20+ coach passenger trains :D

  • wow haha :) there are some huge passenger trains here too that require up to 5 engines

  • NICE HORN on 1805 !

that's one side of 701 that I now have for my records.

  • @northlanderdude Yup that is a great horn! And yeah I meant to tell you about 701 lol. It doesn't have an actual door on that side its more of a side step. It's weird

  • @trainguyONR yup, I saw that !

svengoalie has a video with 701 aswell, but he's got the other side - now I got the whole car drawn on paper HA HA !

now if I can only get some interior shots I'm golden !

  • NICE HORN on 1805 !

  • Goddam you never fail to entertain...nice one!

  • @clusterfak Thank-you!

  • Cool......I saw different colors while it goes forward =)

  • LOL the ONR detector sounds like the BNSF one's here. I wish I lived in Ontario... it looks like it has a lot of neat photo angles.

  • @gumball469 Yeah tons of remote locations for great videos and photos.

  • Nice catches

  • @UPHeritage Thanks!

  • JOEY!!!!

This video is beyond awesome!!! Our Girl 1805 too!! First of all, I love the Catch of the Northlander as you're travelling, and I heard you got the full detector on this one this time. Absolutely amazing video. Was it 1802 or 1809 "El tangerino" south today? I can't remember.

  • @ONRrailfan lol Thanks James!! This video was taken this morning, so 1802 was south. That means el Tangerino will be south sunday

  • Sweet I'll probably head out to my Cliff spot at Laurier Woods to catch her then.

  • @ONRrailfan good i look forward to seeing that

  • Great video! Amazing that you were able to get 1805 on there too! Great Consist too. Thanks so much. HTM

  • @HamiltonTrainMan No problem! And thanks for the comment

  • There at 1:51 the third from a tail, seemed to me, diesel section? How it there has appeared?

  • Nice!!!!!!!!

  • @coolguy676 Thanks!

  • The Fire is out at Millage 28, they found a body, this is where the Dog Village is there on the way from Cochrane to Moosonee, the name of the body can't be disclosed until an autopsy has been done. The water Bombers are done and the train will be put through here shortly, the train will be very late today, it was held up because of the fire.

    ---from facebook 2010 May 21st

  • @Paul2981 Oh wow....that's scary. wonder how things will turn out

  • supposed to be late today due to a fire along the tracks

  • Cool stuff, I like paint on the First GP38 on the PBE.

  • @cprailes44ac Thanks, yeah me too I love that paint. Thats ONR's old paint, before they switched to the ON Rail colours. For some reason they repainted that one back to the old paint and I find it looks way better
