"Saidi" (not "Seadi") means "Upper Egyptian" (from the area between Cairo/Beni Suef down to Aswan), so it´s just a denomination from everybody from that area, no matter how he looks like.

From the root Blad which is land or country as in Blad as Sudani "land of the Blacks". Baladi, in Egypt, is a reference to the "country folk" who moved into the cities from the rural villages throughout Egypt. Baladi and Saidi are both references to indigenous Egyptians.

They're often portrayed in Egyptian films as "simple-minded" peasants.
@iArsalan Visiting shrines and making offerings are practices which belong to the sphere of the "folk" Islam. Even if such traditions have some relation to the Ancient Egyptian culture, it doesn' t mean the Upper Egyptian culture is not overwhelmingly Arab. I recommend you to read the book "Upper Egypt: Identity and Change", which also deals with this issue.

Actually the story of genesis is said to have come from Africa.. The first people on earth called the San, were not black or white, but the very first civilization that later gave birth to all races, so to have an any race-centric view of this is wrong. Are you referring to the Koisan peoples of Southern Africa? There is absolutely no evidence that proposes that they were the first humans or the oldest ethnic groups and even if there was some evidence of this claim, They are still Africans, Black people! You have to first understand that the concept of "human races" is foremost a false European construct. Once you understand this fact you can have a clearer view of what Black actually means, that is the people of the African Diaspora.

Oh i agree with you for the most part. there are some alleles that are more common in certain populations than others and there are some genetic markers that can differentiate differtences amongst cultural groups but, like you said, there is NO speciation amongst men. However, I do happen to consider myself an Afrocentrist; my ancestors were mostly of Africa and I have shared in the hardship of being of Black African descent.. You are using Arabic terms without even knowing what they mean. "Baladi" means simply "local", in this context "Egyptian", it´s doesn´t have connection to a specific ethnic group inside of Egypt. "Saidi" (not "Seadi") means "Upper Egyptian" (from the area between Cairo/Beni Suef down to Aswan), so it´s just a denomination from everybody from that area, no matter how he looks like.

From the root Blad which is land or country as in Blad as Sudani "land of the Blacks". Baladi, in Egypt, is a reference to the "country folk" who moved into the cities from the rural villages throughout Egypt. Baladi and Saidi are both references to indigenous Egyptians.

First, it's not "Blad as Sudani" but "Bilad as Sudan (بلاد السودان) and Saidi (good that you have already learned how to spell it correctly) is not a generic reference to "indigenous Egyptians" but Upper Egyptians. Somebody from a village in el Minufiya is also an indigenous Egyptian, although he is not Saidi.

Then the African asked him in fuseh "you speak classical Arabic". My Palestinian friend laughed and said, "You African are the only ones who commonly speak classical Arabic."

As for Zimbabwe and Nigeria... yes they are less repressive and corrupt because the central government lacks the resources to impose it's power outside of their respective capitols. The majority of their people's, living outside the major cities, are semi-autonomous.

Or the very common ridicule of the Sa'idi (Sa'idi is a colloquial reference to people from Upper Egypt as opposed to Sayid, the term for which you've confused it) that prevails in Egyptian culture. They're often portrayed in Egyptian films as "simple-minded" peasants.

Even if such traditions have some relation to the Ancient Egyptian culture, it doesn' t mean the Upper Egyptian culture is not overwhelmingly Arab. I recommend you to read the book "Upper Egypt: Identity and Change", which also deals with this issue.

So you are in no position to speak on who they do or don't look like or how they live. This is the part that's most astonishing about Egypt. People are so quick to proclaim about a place about which they know absolutely nothing. You watch a few history channel specials and suddenly you're an expert on a place to where you've never even been.

I am asian, Chinese in particular, and even I know that the Egyptians of antiquity were likely to be resemblance in more to the Arabic peoples of the middle east. Yes they were in the african continent but Africa is a very LARGE place....Not all people in Asia look Chinese you know, why is Africa any different?

WRONG.. the Arabic influx took place very late after the period considered antiquity. No University lecturer at a god University would be so naive as to believe the ancient Egyptians were "arabic" looking. That is foolish and not in keeping with proper knowledge on this subject. this is as ridiculous as saying ancient Asia-chinese was Caucasoid. simply laughable and in denial of the ethnic mix, ort else tell us which schoilars do you source? ? I think you just want them to be black so badly you're willing only to cherrypick and accept what evidence only supports your own claims.
Egyptians had very clear ways to physically portray black africans like how they were seen in Hapshepsut's mortuary temple. Usually more pronounced lips, different build and such. If they themselves were like that why didn't they portray themselves in the same way?

Everybody can tell that Ancient Egyptians were African Blacks and some were mixed (just look at the facial features, if you know what that means). The majority of the modern Egyptians now look more like Arabs/Persian because they invades Ancient Egypt. You should do a resourch before talking out off your azz!

Hapshepsut's mortuary temple did indeed depict distinct features common to African south of Egypt. What you fail to realize is that the most notable depictions are of the Queen of Punt whom she refers to as your Grandmother.
The Egyptians themselves called the lands to the south "The land of the beginnings" and "The Placenta Land" and explicitly stated their origins are from inner Africa. All Pharaohs were crowned in Nubian at the temple at Dengeil.

Because like Dr. Clarke said, the very notion that the ancient peoples of Kemet weren't Black Africans is racist. While other people's have their claim to ancient civilizations merely by proximity, we Africans have to fight tooth and nail just to prove it was our society. Black scholars such as Dr. Clarke and Dr. Diop have provided evidence beyond an reasonable doubt; what we are now doing is arguing unreasonable doubts.

damn, you really are stupid. apparently you are unaware that West asians and Eastern europeans had successively invaded Egypt since ca. 670 BCE. starting with the assyrians and persian, then the greeks then the romans, then the Arabs.. However, when these barbarians overran the lands of my ancestors, they never contributed anything of significance. most monuments were constructed in early history before there were any sizable communities on the Arabian peninsula and before there were Greeks.

I understand the fight because I continue to fight it. But I don't waste my time arguing with people like ccheng21. Such people who cast unreasonable doubts will never be convinced because the Truth isn't their aim. They want to believe in white superiority and all other such non-sense because they've built their whole world view upon it and only they can deconstruct it.

klaudios, do you know who menes is and where he came from? Egyptians were black and everyone knows it. They had some mixing later, but the founders of Egypt came from the south, Nubia. Tell me what Menes, Djoser, and all of the first six dynastic Pharoahs looked like. That's almost as bad as me going on and saying Alexander the great was black! There is really no argument he was white and the Egyptians were black.

this is true, but at many times they were united. many of the egyptian queens were nubians and what is today known as egypt part of it was known as nubia in the past. colonized africa didn't look like ancient africa. herodotus wrote the indiginous egyptians were black no different than ethiopians. at different times it was different rulers
