GTI's are tooo heavy. And it takes a lil modification in our little 4 bangers to make up 4 more cylinders V8's have. STI FTW

get a tune from wicked innovation for any subie. Matt knows what he is doing when it comes to tuning subies and making them fast and tom knows how to get everything done.
The GTO is a heavy car and my guess is that is the 04 with the LS1. I can take those without much effort in my 02 T/A because of that. They were heavy as they are and before they got the LS2 they weren't anything worthwhile racing.

@ian02se rule 1. just cuz a engine revs to 9k rpms doesn't make it good. cuz that just means you have more range of having NO POWER!!!.
2. most hp per liter only because making a 4cyl is completely stupid nowadays.
3. a good engine is a balanced one. example-5.0 412 hp and 390 tq, with tq pushing all the way from 1.5k prms to redline, and nothing but pull after 3.5k rpms. unlike the s2ks engine which has no tq.
4. s2ks changed to 8k redlines cuz its better. but of course you knew that right?

The redline was lowered to 8 not cause its "better" as you say, lol, its because the bore and stroke were changed from a 2.0l to a 2.2l. The piston speed of the 2.2l could not reliably go to 9k. And yes, your right, I own a s2k, its becuase im sooo scared of torque! It doesnt have any, I know, but you really should do your research on that engine, you are not educated enough...

@justinaurelius: I believe you got the cars mixed up. The S2000 beat the GTO in every race on there (even after what sounded like a missed gear on the s2000 on their first run & the GTO's head start). The GTO was only able to catch up to the STi on the top end at the beginning of the video.
How is it hard to see? The GTO gets a head start and then the S2000 pulls past and you see the taillights of the S2000. It's not hard to see... Yes, the S2000 is boosted at 20psi as stated in the video.
Damn the S2000 thoroughly spanked the GTO and by association the STI, GTO was great (even though he used the bottle instead of forced induction) and the STI put up a great fight against the GTO, in a field it wasn't designed for. All in all props to all the cars.

From what I could see (which wasn't much) the GTO beat the s2000 by enough that it wouldn't have made a difference.
The GTO would get its ass handed to it by the S2000 on the twisties.
At 3,700lbs the GTO is big and heavy.
On that note, when taping from inside a car, set the focus to infinity otherwise it will home in on the car's class.
