  • Wow Irene. To this day she send chills down my spine. I wanted to marry her as a kid. :)

  • who song is it leo sayer or irene cara ?

  • @keiferrally It's Leo Sayer's song he released his version in 1977 this one was released in 1982

  • @AlexandraBurke4eva oh i see now great song

  • 놀랍네요*^^*

  • My sister still has the album.

  • Regardless...Irene does this phenomenally. For some reason I hear Donna Summer singing this too.

  • yes! you hear it too. i've been saying for years that irene sounds like donna summer.

  • SHE IS THE BEST

  • LOL

I would call this kitsch... fun but leo Sayer is even better!

Even if there are no funky effects or dancing ...

  • dosnt leo sayer sing this too

  • yeah he made teh original

  • very beatiful

  • Like this version. Not sure about the video keeping disco alive in 1982 thou :-)

  • Actually disco was pretty strong in many countries well into 1983 even though it was almost faded out in the US by that time.

  • burkus01,

that comment was very immature. what an evil frame of mind you have. i think an apology is required from you.

  • Burkus - someone more famous than you will ever be and more loved. Did I mention she has more talent than you?

  • nah, leo sabg much cooler

  • Sure Leo sang it better, it was his original song, he is a great singer.

  • i think the original track comes from

Leo Sayer - Thunder in my heart (1977) (you can find it on YouTube) and is 10x beter

  • Didn't know it was her song from the start..! Nowadays most singers make money just using old tracks, indeed.

  • Oh dear. I was always a big fan of Irene Cara and think she should have done a lot more; but this is a really insipid version of the song.

  • though the song is great, the hole video is the specification of "bad art"

  • I'm sure this is a little bit before 1982. I think 78 or 79.

  • NO , this is from 1982 , I have the record it says 1982 , you can even google it.

  • She sing mauch more more better that leo sayer!!!

  • jah uhhh.. wat denk je tis veel meer met computers gedaan dat nieuwe .. is ook heel mooi hoa:P

  • She should only sing Fame. Leo sung this so much better.

  • oh boy takes me back and i was only 6 or 7 when this came out, 80's rock heheheh

  • I think it's the 70's

  • admit this makes your eyes go funny

  • No it doesn't.

  • she was lovely, does anyone know were she is now?

  • she has ruined it, totally ruined..god people must do their own new things instead of copying and murdering nice songs. its not more than a photocopy of something original.

  • She has a wonderful voice...but what the hell is wrong with the video?!

  • My eyes!!! my eyes!!!

  • Wow! This is new for me. I never heard this version in my life. Not bad, although, I prefer Leo Sayer's original one...and I'm not british!!!! I'm chilean...Hehehe!

  • I blame the producers for the dated sound, Irene just did what she was told to do. That's how it went back in the day. Although now, artist have more say and more control. Thank God!!

  • It's a remake of a Leo Sayer's 1977 British #1 hit. That's probably why it sounds disco and dated because it was a '70's disco song. she also remade "Reach Out(I'll Be There), which was a 60's Motown hit, which also had a disco flavor to it as well. The whole "Anyone Can See" album was 70's sounding with a few 80's sounding influences.

  • Her first album, after the "Fame" soundtrack, "Anyone Can See" is where this song is from. The LP was released in 1982. I mean the song sounds like it was recorded in 1979, instead of '82.

  • She released this song too late in 1982. It sounds like disco. Actually it is disco.

  • 1982 my foot!! This sounds way dated from that point!

  • i cant help but wonder what 7-11 counter the backup dancers are working behind now

  • This was very trendy in the 80s videos: video trails

  • Remember Irene's cameo in the movie DC Cab?

  • this makes my eyes bleed O.O but great song
