@conscienciatj Control. If they ever accept the presence of Aliens or their involvement in ANYTHING, the majority of religions would shatter overnight, which would cause enough chaos on its own. The realisation people would then have, that they'd been lied to for all this time, would cause revolts against the established powers. It's not all doom and gloom though; left to their own devices, I think people would be much better off self-governed rather than having 'elected' officials governing us.
