With him impeached I don't think history will be as great as people say because impeachment is a very serious thing, esp when he was found guilty. we lost many rights because of Bush. He chose to favor big companies over the people who elected him. Looked the other way on enviormental issues. Didnt pay much attention on investing in new technology instead he sided with religious groups and because of that we have lost our edge (technologically ) in many fields. It wasn't that the economy was growing weaker as such, it was the fact that the regulation failed outright.
Investment firms were giving loans out to people, and then selling the securities of these loans to other banks. Selling securities was highly profitable, so these investment banks did as much of this as possible.
When they couldn't find people to give money to... they starting looking at the very dangerous sub-prime market. Thanks to this, a minor problem turned into a global recession.

Much of the global recession is CAUSED by America's current financial crisis. During Bush's years, the economy grew weaker and weaker, which in turn hurts the global economy, which comes right back and hurts the American economy. It's a back-and-forth of worsening economic situations.
Bush said mission accomplished when the war wasn't over, that was a lie. He said that Iraq had WMDs, that was a lie. He said that things would get better, and they haven't, it was a LIE.

Well for one thing we know the universe is expanding. The only way to explain this is by postulating a gigantic explosion at the beginning of our universe. That's the most logical explanation.

Actually it has been tested. Redshift supports the hypothesis. As photons travel through space, if the distance they travel increases, their wavelength gets longer and shifts towards red, hence redshift. We observe this, so therefore we know the universe is expanding, and we can measure the rate of its expansion from this. Furthermore you are making the mistake of saying that theories are guesses. Theories are scientific explanations, not guesses.

Well I'm pretty sure by measuring the wavelength of the photons reaching us from distant galaxies that are moving away from us, we can get a calculation of how fast they are moving away, and therefore calculate the rate of expansion of the universe. But this is moot. What you are arguing does not prove the points you were making before. The rate at which the universe is expanding has changed. That alone is enough to discount your original points.

What I know is this. The recession speeds between us and distant galaxies is greater than the speed of light. We can measure these speeds by calculating the velocity using the Redshifted photons that we receive. Since the recession speed is greater than c, that means the universe is expanding. The rates of recession have changed as time goes on. Therefore, current observations support an accelerating universe.
