ya panasonic has been #1 for 3d for a few months now. Even for 3d lcds or leds I think sony is still better than samsung. If your going 3d do plasma or sony lcds. If your staying 2d samsung is still king

First Look at that screen which are bottom of the moon picture. @ 1:26 Panasonic PDP and @ 1:28 Samsung LCD panel, both are different gamma or brightness value settings. Absolutely different bright settings. This cause to make more brighter at side angle watching LCD than self dot flashing PDP in the dark @1:53
2nd, @0:54 It's not a Samsung typical 3D glasses, the official original typical glasses has no glass edges. This video might be filmed before official sale.
OMFG thees guys are RETARDS!!! I got the silver samsung 55" 3D and its no friking way a LCD its an LED. I don't no what they did in this video but my tv works fine and doesn't do those mistakes they show on the video pretty shure it works fine for 3.000€.

Its just that the LED screen uses LED`s( Light Emmitting Diodes). Instead of fluorcent lights. that was used in traditional LCD`s as a bacround light source.
An OLED is in otherhand compleatley different. Here each Pixel Consists of a set LED Diodes, One Red, green and blue. these three colours makes out the pixel. and since they create their own light source . there is no need for an lightsource in the back. this is why OLED`s are thin

Panasonic is a superior TV. Trust me, the stars are there. They just didn't zoom in on the Panasonic like they did on the Samsung. But I have a Panasonic Plasma and I have the same movie they were displaying and I can see the stars just fine.
I have done a lot of extensive studying of various 3D TV's and I have seen them in person at Best Buy and in my opinion from what I have seen Panasonic has the market in 3D hands down both in pricing and quality. A+++++
@bigjonnyjon 3D sucks anyway, even in the cinema its always like a shoulder poping out or some useless detail. 3D sucks, i live life in 3D i don't need my moives to be 3D its not more real, it just an inconvenience to wear glasses at home or in the cinema. By the way, with 3D tv's you have an option to turn the 3D off.
It's easy to compare a 3-D Plasma TV with a 3-D LCD TV. Why don't you test 3-D Plasma TVs with TV Plasma TV, because to compare a LCD TV with a Plasma TV is easy and impartial. LCD TVs, for sample, transmit polarized light. Plasma TVs not.

LCD utilizes polarizing filters, it the 3d goggles you had were also polarized, that explains why the image becomes black with the glasses at a 90 degree angle to the floor.
It's all about what you can afford. There is no TV out there that is wreath $3800, like the panasinic new line of TV's, only to work for a couple of years without a pricey warranty. So I bought the Samsung 50" c7000 3D tv bundle pack for $1650.00 that came with the, 3D blue ray play, 2 year warranty and 3D glasses kit with two pair of glasses. With that said I'am very happy with the deal I got for the price. So my advice is to look for a bunble package if you are trying to go 3D.
Save your money, 3D is a fad,unless you have more money than god then knock yourself out. The industry is moving towards holographic displays within 5 years anyway, maybe sooner!.

1st. That glasses is not the standard Samsung 3D glasses. Samsung standard 3D glass DOES NOT have Edge at bottom of glass. (Everybody can find on Youtube easily)
2nd. Panasonic Plasma PDP has self brightening dot mechanism. but the LCD is light through away system. but more crisper than PDP.
3rd. From at 1:22 (Panasonic) and 1:28 (Samsung) both GAMMA BRIGHT values are absolutely DIFFERENT!!

This movie give many wrong information. All of LCD displays should be showed black screen when using Polarized glasses. It can't be compared with PDP display. This means we never see 3D picture using PDP displays with that kind of glasses. Why they use polarized glasses comparing PDP and LCD? Futhermore, As I know cameras couldn't take 3D picture through 3D glasses because they don't have two eyes and brain. 3D images are synthsized by human brain. I can't believe this movie made by CRs.

Sony's LED LCD TV has same problem that reveal CROSS TALK(double 3D image) issue and LCD's brighter than PDP(the Panasonic's) even at side angle at LCD panel.

ComPodView is right, just because the polorization on the glasses doesnt make the image go dark when you tilt you head, doesn't mean the 3d effect will still work. To view something in 3D, you have to be viewing it at the same level that it was formatted in...(almost always horizontal). And you wouldn't wear the glasses to watch 2D programming. Sounds like ConsumerReports is a bunch of dummies.

The review is not flawed. Pay better attention. They are using the Panasonic glasses on the Panasonic, and Samsung glasses on the Samsungs. It's rather obvious if you watch, these guys are pro's not morons.
The Panasonic has much deeper blacks and if you notice the Samsung LCD's aren't as black in the video they displayed. A good HD TV should have deep true blacks that are BLACK and NO white parts showing or brightness.
@BlazeCustoms Your an idiot the samsung led will beat a plasma anyday in picture quality and in colors. A plasma has really dark picture quality compared to an Led tv that is bright and the picture quality is bright and the picture pops compared to a plasma where its dark and boring.
Tilting your head sideways doesn't work in 3D anyway because your head has to be upright to seperate the two images correctly for left and right. After all the stereoscopic image is captured horizontally. I found you can tilt your head 45° tops although this would already give you a headache because the vertical parallax is 45° off.

Actually, it is not fair, why did they compare LCD & PDP? View Angle is different from LCD & PDP. PDP can be seen by up & down side , but LCD can be seen by left/ right side even though LCD supports Wide View Angle. If they check Sony 3D LCD TV , it would be same as Samsung. THIS IS TOTALLY FAKED TEST COMPARISON.
1st. That glasses is not the standard Samsung 3D glasses. Samsung standard 3D glass DOES NOT have Edge at bottom of glass. (Everybody can find on Youtube easily)
2nd. Panasonic Plasma PDP has self brightening dot mechanism. but the LCD is light through away system. but more crisper than PDP.
3rd. From at 1:22 (Panasonic) and 1:28 (Samsung) both GAMMA BRIGHT values are absolutely DIFFERENT!!
This is Panasonic one way side dumb test ! Just Panasonic AD.

This movie give many wrong information. All of LCD displays should be showed black screen when using Polarized glasses. It can't be compared with PDP display. This means we never see 3D picture using PDP displays with that kind of glasses. Why they use polarized glasses comparing PDP and LCD? Futhermore, As I know cameras couldn't take 3D picture through 3D glasses because they don't have two eyes and brain. 3D images are synthsized by human brain. I can't believe this movie made by CRs.

wow looks like i'm making the switch from my beautiful LED LG LCD I bought 2 months ago to this AMAZING Panasonic 3dtv because I saw a samsung and it looked incredible I need to go test that Panasonic. I won't mind paying an extra $500 for quality

@midlothianboy LED is not a good choice even upcoming sony LED tv. i found out that samsung tv is perfect but shuttle glass is the problem that cause double image. xpand 103 glass is universal for all brand 3d tv and its the fastest 3d glasses which eliminate double image and give less stress in your eyes

Sony's LED LCD TV has same problem that reveal CROSS TALK(double 3D image) issue and LCD's brighter than PDP(the Panasonic's) even at side angle at LCD panel.

only assembles parts imported from Japan with using Japanese technologies.

ComPodView is right, just because the polorization on the glasses doesnt make the image go dark when you tilt you head, doesn't mean the 3d effect will still work. To view something in 3D, you have to be viewing it at the same level that it was formatted in...(almost always horizontal). And you wouldn't wear the glasses to watch 2D programming. Sounds like ConsumerReports is a bunch of dummies.

The review is not flawed. Pay better attention. They are using the Panasonic glasses on the Panasonic, and Samsung glasses on the Samsungs. It's rather obvious if you watch, these guys are pro's not morons.
The Panasonic has much deeper blacks and if you notice the Samsung LCD's aren't as black in the video they displayed. A good HD TV should have deep true blacks that are BLACK and NO white parts showing or brightness.

Tilting your head sideways doesn't work in 3D anyway because your head has to be upright to seperate the two images correctly for left and right. After all the stereoscopic image is captured horizontally. I found you can tilt your head 45° tops although this would already give you a headache because the vertical parallax is 45° off.

Can someone please explain to me what people mean when they talk about deep black levels pointing on gray plasma TVs. In the part when he says about black levels standing inbetween the two TVs it looks very opposit to what he says. The Samsung LED TV has much deeper black. I don't get it.

@internationalpirate I agree, 3dtvs are already standardized which means that any 3d blu ray player can play on any 3d tv but whats not standardized is the 3d glasses that company use, maybe the reason why the samsung on their report has cross talk.

Actually, it is not fair, why did they compare LCD & PDP? View Angle is different from LCD & PDP. PDP can be seen by up & down side , but LCD can be seen by left/ right side even though LCD supports Wide View Angle. If they check Sony 3D LCD TV , it would be same as Samsung. I am Korean , I don't like Samsung . but this test is not fair.
