@TheAmericanbornscot Same as Stuart did with the Skids, just tuned two down: D,G,C,F,A,D basically instead of E,A,D,G,B,E which is the standard tuning.
This stuff is fantastic. Stuart Adamson has got to be one of the most under-appreciated guitarists ever, and I find it amazing that he wrote this stuff when he was barely out of his teens and had only been playing guitar for just a couple of years.
that a yamaha sg i have a blue metalic 1978 they dont make them like it anymore no comparison to the sound when im banging out into the valley or the saints are coming
any chance you could work out the tabs for Blood and Soil? I cant find them anywhere, mebbe you could even post a video as I am sure you would do Stuart proud,I know I am asking a lot
f*ckin! ace !!! well done !!! would love to see more, perhaps- into the valley & yankee dollar?? wow ! you got my eyes wellin up ! love watchin stu crankin up the deep green sg esp new years eve @ barras on video "harvest home" tears stream doon my face everytime "come back to me adamson, days are far too long" well done neil!!!! you have done stuart an all of us proud !!
excellent . i try and try on my ibanez ar 200 and still sound shite . livin in fife just isnt enough to match the greatness of stuart adamson but guy on vid is pretty damn close . cheers mate . theres an army of us still love his music . and damn fine people too , never met a bad yin .
Hey, thats excellent.just out of curiosity, what does an SG like that set one back if you dont mind me asking? I cant play but my boy is learning and has a cheap strat copy (although it is quite well put together) Can you do (this sounds like a request) Blood and soil? It's maybe not that hard but Stuart made it sound Fing great in the "rock goes to college" clip would love to see someone else do it justice, certain to get lots of good comments I reckon cos you obviously know your shit backwards
nice! oh yeah! nice! Stuart Adamson the most underrated guitarist ever, great riffs, made me want to pick up a guitar RIP. i`v got an ibanez artist have you? it looks like one, oh well! great vid n1 m8.
Ahoy. Just a few Stuart Adamson riffs from The Skids. Not saying they're dot on or perfect. A real pain faffing about trying to video myself so it was a case of that'll do or the guitar's going through the f**kin window. So please no guitar geeks telling me Stuart doesn't play the open D string on the Circus Games intro or they can play it faster. All done in good fun and in tribute to one of my heroes.
how did you tune it? can u forward me an email of this(there's no good skids tabs or bc for that matter)?

I love SG 2000s a really distinctive sound.
They're about £1,195 new...but it may also be worth looking at the SG 1000, which is usually about 200 quid cheaper. I still dont have one tho.

I keep coming back to this video, we inspiring.

I think Adamson himself used an e-bow to get the bagpipe effect as well. This video is great, because it shows folk how to play these chords as well.

Thanks. No tabs. Just guess work. I don't think they're far off. The guitar's tuned down two frets (a full tone to D) for Masquerade and Charade btw.
