from all guys out there, claiming they can tell you something about the truth, UG is the only one whose statements can't be falsified, doupted or denied. This truth, that there is no spritual or religious truth and purpose in living , however, can't be accepted by people. We want answerss just because we dont want too feel emtpy, useless and lost.This seeking for something to grab on/hold on seems to be all natural.
This was when he was in his prime. The videos of him when he was older are hard to understand because his teeth were missing. so , he has wanted to achieve "enlightenment" he failed a nd he feels he saw te whole thing as a genuine fraud... just by doing basic zen , and stopping inner dialogue ... you can expirience "real meditation" referred to by many Zen buddhists and krishnamurti , yes alot of people capitalize from "newage" bullshit meditation and pseudoscience yoga techniques and breathing patterns how ever... I wouldnt write off the whole part of meditation as a fraud , its simple its being thankful for a breath
UG never wanted to inspire anyone. He only wanted to disenchant. All of our ideas are placeholders. We don't know what color the sky is, we are told it is blue. I don't know what you are, so I will call you a man. It goes on and on. We create placeholders for everything. We cannot experience anything except through the use of these placehiolders and we fear the loss of the placeholder we call ourself. There is nothing there.
Inspite of his seemingly honest remarks meditation survived and flourished all over the world. In these videos UG appears to be serene. Later on he appears to be abusing every one, calling his grand mother a bitch and every thing a shit. It is also noticable that he uses comparatively fair language with the white audiences, probably because he does not consider them as his own. He says American landing on moon was a farce and prostitution is better than preaching. Has he inspired any one?

For years in a row he climed a stage as a spokesman
for the theosofical society, giving lectures on the Self
and the Divine. So he actualy DID try to inspire before
he came to the conclusion that it was al bogus to him.
If the natural state as he calls it makes a person as bitter
as he was, then i'll happily pass...
