This is a great organ! It is wonderful to have it fully restored. However, it is a disappointment in the fact that the City of Chattanooga has messed with the acoustics in this building over the years during "renovations". Additionally, the acoutstic plaster baffles have deteriorated and have been damaged by carelessness. The procenium arch has been partially plastered up. The organ just does not speak well into the room and the organist cannot hear the organ very well.
It is so wonderful that this great organ is playing again! Edwin Lemare was the organist here as well as at the big Austins in San Francisco and Portland Maine. This is a very important and historic instrument! Hopefully we will hear more someday?
