na man whightware moters are easy takes me 15 minutes to strip complete. dont use a grinder use a old wood chisel bevel towards bottom. when cut threw head turn over in vice pull out using a pry bar { like a pinch bar but different engineers use them. end is tapered to fit in slots. after out i gas torch the wire to cut string and remove wen cooled down and nylon. any bigger moters depending how well they were varnished you may have to burn motor for sum time to remove from slots.
oooo ok i see what i did wrong with car alterantor i took apart ! but still the inside fiber seal had to be cut out before remoing the rest of the windings ! MY 1st and last alternator ever too hard for 2 lbs of copper !
rather just turn in the whole motor and get 45 cents a lb for a 35 lbs motor ! However some motors are easy to do i just cut through 1 half of windings and pry them out other side in seconds ! had great week two weeks ago 579$ one day then 63$ and $75 next two days
Looking at stripping copper from a few motors myself but have been thinking of an easier way of doing it. Would it not be easier to just use an angle grinder with a steel cutting disc to saw straight through the steel/ metal housing case?? I'm sure once the tension is taken out with a clean cut the copper strips should come out of the channells pretty easy ???
what is the total weight of an alternator and how much we can get copper from that.I would like to know the percentage of copper,Al and steel ratio.
Thanks

Nice video keep on scrapping.

Totally not worth the time and effort. I could have collected 15 pounds of copper wiring in the time it took you to take the copper out of that.
