  • I can guarantee you that you would be pulling the gear set and replacing it withing a few thousand KM's if you ran it like that. :P

Great style video for the young guys with A.D.D. though.

  • you shouldn't be able to turn it that easy

  • ...What was the point in watching this...

  • This is too little preload. With the proper preload you shouldn't be able to spin the ring gear by hand at all. This video is an example of too little preload. It should have 15-28 in. lbs and the ring gear in this video may not even have 5 in. lbs. Accomplishing this amount of torque is a PITA. I used a 18 inch breaker bar with 3 feet of pipe. It is doable but not easy.

  • means a strong decel

  • YOUR LEFT HAND IS A HOOK

  • sounds like bad carrier bearings . Also is there a pinion gear installed?? turns too easy

  • Its a bit loose the pinion need to have 15-25 lbs of peload on it so the bearing stay well set .

  • could this be why my dana 60's prevent me from doing over 60 MPH?

  • That seem to be just right to me with new bearings

  • Well, son of a bitch, it's that easy huh? And to think I go through the trouble of setting up for turning torque on lightly oiled bearings! Doh!

  • This is done by Photoshop. No human can do that.

  • @SilentHiss1 Yeah its pretty easy to do. Take the drive shaft off or pop in in neutral.

  • @SilentHiss1 I didn't know you could edit videos with Photoshop.....

  • Too much pre-load my ass you should not be able to spin it period. might also try not puting the bearings in dry either.

  • yep 100in-lbs

  • adjust it until it just spins freely

  • @jayguy173 no wrong lol

  • @jayguy173 Diffs aren't supposed to spin comepletly free.

  • @jayguy173 It shouldn't spin completely free.

  • When is the time for this test?

Can you do it with the pinion in place or before to install it?

Thanks a lot for these vids.

  • @COKE75 ... pinion goes in before diff

  • @turtlemann14

    I know.

But unless you have installed a new chrush collar and nut yet,you can remove it for triying different tests.

Anyway, the time for this test is with the pinion out of place .

  • perfect, go do some brake locks lol

  • sounds good, close her up lol!

  • Don't see how anyone could argue with that. Pretty basic rear-end stuff...

  • wrong! that too little pre-load still" man-

i bet you burned it ha... i did the pre load

    - your suposed to use an inch pound wrench

    and messure the drag"

    you back yard techies"

  • what do you think you know everything hes on a lift witch means its in a garage wich means he must know something about cars eh

  • Neato... I like it when short videos with no editing are interesting enough to hold their own.

  • yah theres too much preload
