yeah there is an apple store online in mexico....it little expensive but i guess is better than go to another store because the customer service really sucks!!!!
I'm sure there is a way to order it online. I'm also pretty sure there has to be an apple store in Mexico, There are plenty of Mexican natives with videos of their new macbooks all over youtube.
Good idea. Or you can just buy an internal HD for even less. It's so easy to install the HDD in the new Macbook. You're basically paying for a $300 nightlight. Though... it is shiny and pretty all lit up. *shrugs*
No, I didn't go to the apple store, I went to a small regional electronics store by me which is licensed to sell apple products.Your right that it is one kick ass laptop though :)
dude 100 gbs of songs!? i bet you don't listen to even 1,000 of them! haha whats having that many songs unless you are in the business even then it's still questionable! nice vid tho
not really, most of my songs are 320k bit rate mp3's and along with them are tons of pod casts and music videos (i cant even sync half of them to my ipod or zune) I keep them on a 500gb external drive
Ho do you edit videos on this if your camera has a firewire 800 output??? you can't use USB as it's to slow. I have a Mac book pro 17" and edit with Final cut pro a lot and this put me off big time.
I don't really edit videos on my macbook anymore since I got a new camera and adobe software for my windows machine. I don't like the loss of the firewire connections either. My guess is that apple didn't want to really make this a 13.3" macbook pro, so they took away the mini dvi and firewire connectors to distinguish between the two. The new macbook still rocks with the nvidia 9400m, but still cant compare to a MBP for more intense stuff like graphical design and video editing.
I hope your didn't have to pay for a new computer or cost to fix the graphics card. Apple will take it back and give you a new computer for free, unless you bought if from somewhere else and has a different warranty.
sirmasterpimp just wanna say you are cool, respect! i have macbook white 2.4ghz 4gb 667mhz ram, 250gb hdd 5400rpm, i have also a external box combo 4 terra bytes and works fantastic. i would not use this with the battery for sure;), just plug my current on, greetz
I bet you will never put a 1 TB harddrive in there, it will suck you battery dry quicker than you can say "I love Apple" :D
Why don´t you buy an external drive? I know that it is not the same comfort. But for example you do not always need all your music/videos or pictures stored directly on your mac.
I have an external 500gb drive and im pretty satisfied with the 250 gb hard drive in the macbook for now. They make up to 500 gb internal drives for laptops now, it all depends on how fast they spin (5400 rpm or 7200 rpm) which will gauge how much battery they eat.
well im a gamer and i would use boot camp for vista but how many gb should i put? i would use the vista for games and i would download limewire kinda thing
Why didn't you just get a larger hard drive for your 2.0ghz? Either way, the better processor will definitely be better for video editing- so good call either way!
Really for that small amount of music it doesn't matter if you get the 2.4 or 2.0 (I have 15gb of music..6gb of videos). If your just looking for something to surf the internet and less demanding tasks, go for the 2.0....but if you do gaming, plan on running photoshop or want a bigger hard drive/faster processor, go for the 2.4.
Yep, haven't been able to test it though, because I had it sent to my mothers house....I'll probably have a vid up of it tomorrow when I go buy the house.
does the 2.4 GHz macbook get the same battery life as the 2 GHz one? as far as i know they both use the same 45WHr battery, so it seems that logicaly the 2.4 GHz model would have a reduced battery life.
They use the same exact battery and i did notice about a 30 minute difference in battery life from the base 2.0 and the higher 2.4 ghz model. The up side is that I get like 5 hours and 25 minutes from my 2.4 when just browsing the internet....about 4 hours 30, when I'm using i tunes and other applications. the lowest I've gotten is 2 and a half hours when I was purposely maxing out the cpu.
you could have replaced the internal hard drive in the MacBook 2.0GHz instead of getting a new one. You could get a 500GB hard drive and install it VERY easily because of the new design. Just a pointer.
yea, but the keys still attract way too much grease(even if hands are clean). If mac would use the same key material as found on the toshiba x205, they would never hear complaints about the keyboard. I actually use my toshiba with greasy hands, but they seem to resist the grease very well.
That wouldn't be sensible in my case, because I primarily use this laptop on the go. I already have a gaming laptop hooked up to a 500gb external drive for music and videos when Im at home.
Nope, I barely notice the difference between the two. The applications seemingly run at the same speed two. Only time you can tell the difference between the 2.0ghz and the 2.4ghz is when the keyboard lights up at night (like you said, not necessary, but a nice addition). I also noticed that the battery life is about 30 min better on the 2.0 (4 1/2 hours), than the 2.4 (4 hours).
Yea but the more expensive one has a faster processor plus the backlit keyboard is AMAZING believe me ;)...if u can get the other one ...u wont regret it
What the point of the backlight keyboard? The light from the screen is bright enough for you to see the keys and plus the F and J keys have the little notches so you can feel where to put your hands. It would only be a good feature if you don't know how to type properly and have to look at the keyboard as you type.
Wasn't just the hard drive, I also needed the 2.4ghz processor to run my video editing software faster. I still plan on upgrading the hard drive soon though.

Why don't you just get an external hard drive? You can get 1 TB for as little as $100-170 USD on Amazon!!

Takes away from the portability and is inconvenient, 1TB drives usually need another power source.

@Dominonator $170 for a 1 TB is expensive. you can get an external 1 TB for about $80- $100 at micro center

By the way the keys on the 2.4ghz model look lighter because they have to be somewhat transparent so that the backlight will shine through them.

hey is there a lot of difference between the 2.0ghz and the 2.4ghz???!!
I consider buying the 2.0 and upgrading the DDR3 Memory to 4 GB(instead of 2) and probably also upgrade the hard drive.
I mean - the Backlit Keyboard(only on 2.4ghz) can't be THAT super necessary...
