I'm not sure what makes an OFFICIAL wurlpool, however I DO know what's happening here:

The Niagra River's current is being thrown into rotation by a bend in the river. So it flows around to be drawn to the center, and the water has nowhere to go-but down...

So the water's current flows down undernieth it's self in a huge drop, creating HUGE rapids you see here.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

When i went on it are driver was a dumb ass. he kept doing the 360 turn its was fun after the first 4 after that he almost hit the side of the glen in the rocks -_- numnuts

Also its was fucking cold to that day. Water+Wind+speed of 155+ Moron driver=One Hell of a Ride!

I've been twice - oddly enough, one of the best parts of the trip was when the engines first gun it. You start off really slow, then to feel the MASSIVE power of those engines as it pushes 30+ people to the back of their seats when it takes off, is really incredible.

@HerseysXAlmonds Agreed. Some times there's so much water coming at you constantly, that if you don't take a deep breath before the wave crashes over, you're almost drowning! These boats are SOOO powerful too. And aside from the rapids, it's a great scenic trip!

this ride is AMAZING....this is a must if your going to Canada. they have an american side one but its not the same..lol. been on it twice now and going again in august, took my girlfriend last time while we were in canada and she LOVED it :) WORTH THE MONEY!!

P.S: you need a passport to enter canada now.

Both sides of the river have boats, this vid does this boat no justice.this boat has like tree 1500hp volvos ,60 mph with 30 people and turn a 360 at full speed.I would give both my nuts to drive this thing up river.

This was so much fun, the video does not do it justice. My wife & I did this on our honeymoon a couple of years ago. We had so much fun, when we docked, we hopped on the next boat & paid for a second ride! Truly a great experience, highly recommended.
