My glider wakes me up at 2:00 am in the morning and barks for, like, 3 hours, no joke!,She refuses to stop no matter how much I hold her. I think she just likes hearing herself...
when one of mine barks, the other stays really still, so i wonder if maybe its a warning noise as well? BTW terri i got two boys from you last year i think it was, they are precious and golems boys. They are doing Great!
@dixiefarmgirl Be grateful. Mine starts at 4 or 5 a.m. CONSISTENTLY no matter how much food or attention I have given her and won't be quiet unless I talk back to her.

@KikiKiti you real dont "get used to it" it sometimes goes on like this for more than an hour. its pretty bad when its at 3 am and you have clinicals for school and have to get up at 545. but sometimes mine "sing" me to sleep. i love my babies but the barking EARLY in the morning sucks pretty bad. but i know the only reason he does it is so i give him a treat.
@KikiKiti sugar gliders love to sleep btw and if you get them from when they are babies and give them alot of attention they will love you back. they love to fall asleep in tight places ie. a shirt pocket and if you wake them up you get a even cuter little growl from them. yes i am a guy that just said cute. but really thats all i can describe it as. they are great animals to have and are a great conversation peice along with munchkin cats.
@terrispettingzoo i also heard that it was a warning to others that something has entered their territory. i work till midnight and my parents have to talk to mine when he barks. :)

I'm pretty sure he/she is trying to call a mate. My baby girl did that almost every nigh, until I got a male for her... and she stoped

my glider made that noise for two hours. I took her out and played with her then i feed her and finally she was happy.

They bark for many reasons:
want attention
calling other gliders
want food
just feel like making noise
