Steps to End the Embargo: 1)Eliminate the Marxist political indoctrination, which is a central feature of Cuba's education system. 2)Hold Democratic Elections 3)Institute private-enterprise & ownership of property. 4)Restore all confiscated asset & properties to their rightful owners, or agree to pay appropriate compensation for what the regime has stolen from them. 5) Free all political prisoners currently in Cuban jails.W/out these steps, Castro's continues his Repression on the Cuban people.
Is not such embargo. USA let our people visit our country whenever, send money whenever. Ask to the Castro's dictatorship, stop the embargo, stop the repression, let our country make our own desicions about free elections.
And yes you can blame Castro. I blame Castro for taking advantage of Cuba's situation in 1959 to concentrate absolute power in his hands. I blame him for not fulfulling the promises he made in the Sierra Maestra of re-instating the 1940 constitution and bringing democracy to Cuba. I blame him for the economic experiment he has conducted in his own country which has made the island poorer than what it already was. I blame him for turning Cuba from a country of immigrants to one of emigrants.
thats a lie , all over latin america there have been protestors against bush , even in the countries with puppet governments such as colombia , peru and mexico, cubans do it the most
dude what the hell do you know about cuba or it's reality to comment? Educate your self. People in Cuba are too concerned about what they will eat tomorrow to voluntarily go out and protest against Bush, regardless of what they think of him.
people in cuba dont starve like in most countries, if u dont know that then ur a total idiot and i cant waste my time explaining facts to idiots, plus they have free healthcare something the u.s doesnt know anything about, you are just another follower of corporate america
free healthcare? Yes its free put people must take their own blankets to the hospital, and Cubans in Miami must send them the medicines they need because they don't have them there. Do a bit of research and learn how Cuba compared to the rest of Latin America before Castro.
Those who support the illegal economic blockade against Cuba should never complain about the scarcity of consumer goods in Cuba, instead, they should give each other high-fives because that's their aim, that's what they work for. In any case, having to bring your blanket to the hospital is better than having to bring thousands of dollars.
No seas tan ignorante.
I don't know anything? If the Miami Cubans are against the embargo (actually blockade) they could have fooled me! The only thing I see is them applauding every measure taken by Bush to strangle Cuba. Hell, they did not even protest strongly enough the curtailment of their travel to see their relatives! It is total submission to the right-wing, no wonder they love the commercial plane bomber Posada.
Most Cubans that have arrived since the 1980s do not vote because either they are politically apathetic (as are most cubans in cuba, who have pretty much just settled for what the've got and only look for ways to leave the country) or they have not become citizens.
I am glad to hear that the majority of exiles arrived after 1980 are against the blockade. If so, why they don't make some noise? By the way, it's "blockade" because foreign corporations, ships, etc. doing business with Cuba can lose American business deals, which is sometimes very effective.
platanorico, you replied to my comment, but I don't really understand why as I have never stated I want the embargo to go on. I completely agree with you that the embargo is Castro's greatest ally as it has given him an excuse for all of the falures of the revolution.
has bad as cuba is their are far far worse countries in the world then cuba. how bout haiti? or what about the whole continent of africa? yes cuba is poor its a third world country just like the rest of latin america. and it all goes back to christopher columbus. that man stoled all of our gold and killed our taino indian race!! the revolution works only those who accepted it. i been to cuba and i know the truth!!
Yes there are many countries in the world that are far worst than Cuba. Its interesting that you pick Africa and Haiti as your examples though. Before 1959 in spite of all of the inequalities, corruption, and poverty Cuba had it never compared to that of Haiti or Africa. Haitians use to immigrate to Cuba to find work in the sugarcane fields before Fidel arrived. In fact Cuba before 1959 performed above most of Latin America in just about every socioeconomic standard.
And honestly it's about time we stop blaming people for our failures and concentrate on the future. You speak of the Taino race being killed but the tainos were a primitive society without even a written language. The Spanish, although ruthless in their colonization brought to Cuba education, built infrastructure, and turned Cuba into one of the richest colonies in the world. I'm glad you've been to Cuba. Now try living their as an average Cuban without access to dollars.
i remember thinking when i first read that the US was gonna keep Cuba out of the WBC that i wasn't going to watch the tournament. i mean how can u have an international baseball tournament without cuba??? lol. just more U.S. bullshit. and extorting money from Cuba too...damn the US sucks. Cuba kicks ass. lol at the american umpiring too. symbolic of the U.S. in every way. awesome, awesome video.
oh and it looks like people are blaming Bush for everything, just as the stupid greedy bastard liberals who actually run the country want not only america but apparently the rest of the world, to think. sad. bush is an optimistic shy charaacter who at least has a soul. wait 'till we elect hillary or obama, all sellout whores. --waiting for the bottom to fall out
Dont think Cubans hate Bush. The government does and they force people to attend the anti-Bush marches. But in reality the average Cuban is quite apathetic in regards to politics and they admire the US b/c of the oportunities it provides.

"Castro destroys tourism..."
"he would surely strangulate tourism again"
Tourism is the biggest industry, and it brings bad things to the country (apart from money obviously) Like sexual tourism and other things... Other than that, tourism is such a huge industry there is tons of promotion in Canada, South America, Europe and Asia.. So Castro destroying tourism doesn't seem to be the case.
In other words, give back all the land once held by Batista's collaborators?
Not sure if the Cubans will go along with that suggestion....
