ARG! So frustrating! I used the same recipe from betty crocker, but somehow missed the neon food dye part-AND i didnt use muffin cups. Thanks for explaining that. I couldnt pin-point why my batch burned on the edges, and the colours sucked. I had to use a TON of regular food dye (about half a bottle!). I feel silly, but now I see..

Red and yellow makes orange. It only worked for you in lime green and red coz lime green has yellow on it. For a good result, try mixing red and yellow instead. Just sayin'
