I've owned couple PSA 8 and BGS 7 & 9's...All of them had the BLUE LINE running down the bottom tip of the Fleer Logo Flag. Does that mean all of those PSA and BGS graded Jordan are fake?

I have a Michael Jordan RC 86 Fleer. BGS graded 9.5 w/ all 9.5 Subs.

Talking about the blue line on the bottom tip of the flag...My card have that blue line also.

129 exist in the world...no u mean 129 have been graded a 9.5 from beckett theres many more in peopeles collections ungraded or graded by other grading services or some are still in wax packs or hidden away id take a guess that prob 2,000 or so jordans in the world would grade 9.5 or better

@sciontcdude Actually there are over 200 BGS 9.5's now... and yes a 10 on centering IS the hardest 10 to acheive and by far the most important! If the card is off centered it detracts from the overall appearance! I have a BGS 9 with subs 10 Centering, 9.5 Edges, 9 Corners, and 9 Surface... just 0.5 away from BGS 9.5 gem mint.. but with the rare "10" centering it's practically just as valuable! I will always treasure my BGS 9 over even a 9.5 if it doesn't have a 10 centering.

AWESOME card!!! Truely the holy grail of all basketball cards in GEM MINT condition with 10 centering and 9.5's all around. Something like this is worthy of $10k price tag. Especially now with MJ in the hall of fame. His cards have been sky rocketting. There's one on eBay right now sellin for $9,000 dollars. There are literally only a handful of the GEM MINT 9.5's graded with a sub 10 for centering and the rest 9.5. Amazing. Keep it and pass it onto your future kids. Definately an investment!

Hey you were right about the Miracle Shop. I emailed Ryan and he was a really nice guy! I ended up getting my 9.5 from a friend though for 5700. But the Miracle guys were so professional that I will definitely be getting my future cards from them. @BenMoss85 ben with a 10 on center and the rest 9.5's you will need around 6500, anything else around 5-6k depending on the subs.

A bgs 9 84-85 jordan star 101 rc sells for $5500 which is the price of the fleer in bgs 9.5. Why, because star jordan rookies are scarce. That is where the money will be in the future. Make that your next purchase ...

@boobooboogoo It's not that common in 9.5 compared to how many there are. Especially in those subs with a 10 Centering (which is the hardest to get), and 9.5 all around. That's a spectacular card and will always be the holy grail. Ungraded MJ Rookie's are almost pointless since so many reprints and fakes have been made. It's almost necessary to get one graded by either BGS or PSA to make sure its real. Once you have a Gem Mint, it's like gold.

@firewoodguy2009 Beckett does not grade reprints, but they are known to slab sheet-cut cards. That Jordan is not sheet-cut, IMO. Nice card.

Nice card but why does everybody neglect to mention the 1984-85 star jordan rc? You know, the one that was made a full 2 years before the 86-87 fleer. The one of which there are only 3 bgs 9's with no 9.5s or 10's. Fleer was mass produced. Star was not. Also, the fleer rc is quite easy to find centered - star is extremely difficult. Buy the star rc, leave the fleer for the kids. By the way, star was the only nba licensed card from seasons 83-84 through 85-86...

@boobooboogoo True on all points... But there's something about the Fleer Rookie that will always give it the edge.. for one the picture on the Fleer puts the Star rebounding pose to shame... The Fleer literally DEFINES what Jordan was. And the design was 100X better... yes the Star was the first, but there were never actual packs to pull cards from. But either way I say don't leave the Fleer for kids.. get both! LOL

nice card, you said if you had it regraded it might get one or two more 10 subgrades. if it had two more 10 subgrades the card would be graded a 10 overall and not a 9.5 so not likely.

it also is offcentered looking to me (top to bottom- card has more red at top than bottom.

still a nice card and easily worth around 5k IMO. I sold one of these back when there were only 25 of them and got 15k for it.

Definitely on the 'Holy Grails' of card collecting.

To me it looks like it was not perfectly centered though. To me the right side looks a bit bigger than the left side. It may just be the camera angle and/or the casing.

@ctozzi123 a BGS 9.5 is almost a sure fire lock to be turned into a PSA 10 if someone wanted to cross grade it... but the 9.5 is worth more than a PSA 10 as it stands... 6,500-7,500 for a 9.5 is a steal right now if you can afford it. Once the economy gets back on its feet and people aren't scared to spend again gem mint mj rcs will go for 10K easy... only 129 BGS Gems in the WORLD!!!!
