There is also a sword of white woe in suran as well. use the silt strider to get there and its in the guard tower to your right i think its easer to take cuz of no guard near it

You buy invisibility potion for 35 septims and you get the sword. End of story.

@Malaikat31 the reason i didnt use invisibility is because when you interact with something, it stops you being invisible and before you know it the guard is onto you quicker than you can say "n'war"

@mrpatty29 Well, I just did it, a little over hour ago. The guard just says "Who's there?" and stares at me. And that's it. I do it every time i start playing Morrowind - alternatively, I do the "Bad people" quest and use that Chameleon ring - but that's a little tricky because it makes you only partialy invisible.

@Malaikat31 i havent played morrowind in a good few years now but i remember i could never steal stuff while invisible because any interaction cancels the effect and i was always caught. i always thought chameleon was much better (when 100%). oh well

@mrpatty29 Makes sense. I don't know, really, maybe I just used good qualitiy potion or smth. But, in all fearness, the very first time I snitched that sword I used technique similar to yours - lure the guard downstairs, than runrunrun upstairs and get the sword.

dont need to attack the guard, stay behind the pillar so the guard cant see you. then jump and grab it in the air :D

Oh! I have a better idea to get it.

Pass the guard to the bed.

Make sure you stand behind the pole so the guard can't see you.

If you close enough, you can jump and acquire this sword for free.

But if you can't perform this in correct time.

Just open inventory while in the peak of your jump and take it

well.. i just killed the guard and took the sword as well as his armour. :D (lvl 2 redguard, but difficulty has been only medium). i placed those items in a crate and payed money for my crime, but okay, your way is more softly :P

@lhogan33 Doesn't what I've written suggest that this sword is for low levels? Sure it's by no means a great weapon but it does good damage for a starting character, fetches a high price and can be obtained easily and quickly. The other artefacts require more time and effort spent to get them.

I don't know my level, I uninstalled my copy shortly after doing my Morrowind videos, but I was probably less than level 30. I still did pretty much everything though. Werewolves>Vampires ;)

For when you're starting a new game: There's a tradehouse in Tel Branora with a downstairs desk that always spawns a random glass weapon. I quicksave outside, then run in and check the desk, repeatedly quickloading and rechecking until I find a glass claymore. Worth 32k. The glass daggers (2? I think in Vivec, and 1 in the Suran pawnbroker's) can be bought for about 20 gold each, repaired and sold for 4k. Always sell to Creeper in Caldera. He rules. These and the White Woes, makes a lot of cash.

@BingtheLizard why sell to creeper who has 5k .. the mudcrab merchant has 10k.. more cash when u sell

@meeddivad True, the mudcrab has more moolah, but Creeper is much easier to get to. To sell a 10k item to creeper, first sell him an item worth 5k, then wait a day. Then sell him the 10k item, whilst bartering back the 5k item (you previously sold) in the same transaction, as well as getting 5000 gold. This way you got a full payment for the 10k item. The cash and a 5k item back. Sell the 5k item again... etc. Repeat and continue in order to sell really expensive things like daedric weapons.

Well, a better way to get that sword (I'm not blaming you mrpatty, but my way is rather more simple) is to make the guard turn and give hers back to the closet. Now snake behind her and go to the closet. You got the sword -_-

Yes but this is meant for new characters. I doubt a character fresh from Seyda Neen would be able to afford to make that spell.

Are you all noobs? I know the most MOST effective way. A bug in morrowind. If you jump on an npcs head and sneak they can't see you. So go to the Mages Guild in balmora then jump on the enchanters head then steal all her soulgems in the beginning of the game. Then sell them to the mudcrab or whatever.

I have been a thief in morrowind for many years lol. Every rare Item I have stolen Mauahua. Without having to interract with other npcs or pay any fines. AND WITHOUT CHEATING :D

@ochiorbus And you expect low level or recently made characters to get a Daedric Artifact? No. This sword isn't that good, I'll admit, but for a low level it's brilliant unless you cheat. This way, you can come to Balmora and get the sword as soon as you make a new character.

Please don't rate me down but just know that Umbra is easy to get, without any effort, just steal some stuff in suran, go to a mage guild and buy scrolls, then go kill Umbra ;D (or the quest that you inform Drem Beno of a ebony mine south of balmora, he will reward you with a deadric weapon ;D [easy way to get deadric battle axe or bow])

I remember when I play my High Elf and I made "Vampire Sword". It was ebon long sword with spell 10-20 drain life (I was a vampire when I made it). That sword became VERY powerful

To become a vampire you must a fight with one of them and wait a little for a vampire's ill (I forgot that name xd). Playing a vampire is very hard and boring ;P. Everyone will attack you (everyone without Telvanni). Quarra Vampire Clan is in dwarf's ruins Druscasthi, on south-west from Urshilak Camp.

Yeah I found that by myself, I just made the guard look away from it then snuck on top of the boxes/whatever next to the thing and took it and he didn't notice. So no bounty for me. :) Never been caught.
