Sweet Video! I just ran my SC'd Crewmax Tundra for the first time, in Bradenton, FL today. Best was 13.237 @102.31 with stock TRD wheels and Rugged Trails, 3/1 level, and campershell with no weight reduction. I'm going to try to find a set of drag radials, remove the shell and reduce weight, and see if I can get into the 12's. My first run was 13.80, 2nd run was 13.485. I was very surprised to see the low 13's. Waiting on my buddy to see how videos turned out. Raced a modded Titan, and won
@chinchillawrangler I agree, i am all about the super light cars. it is way easier to get power than lose weight....take a 400 hp mid 90's honda civic, that will run in the 11's some with the right set up 10's. that is the difference in weight.....they say that having 1000 lbs less is like having 100hp more. 100 lbs is like losing 10 hp. sooo....
@chinchillawrangler ...so....in principle a 5600 lbs truck with 550 lbs of torque has the same acceleration as a 90's 2600 lbs honda civic with 250 hp and torque....the civic does not have 4 wheel drive it doesn't have as wide of tires, however is has smaller tires which take less power to turn, for instance if you put big huge swampers in size 40 inch on this tundra it would slow it down. the civic is older technology too, as far as power to wheels etc, but the principal is true. lose weight...
@chinchillawrangler is what i really want to see is that tundra motor in a car mass produced by toyota. ( perferably with the supercharger.) that was fairly light for that size ( 3500 lbs.) can you imagine that car, with 550 lbs of torque and 504 hp.... i am sure they would tune it a little differently. they do have the lexus isf that is a 5.0 liter making 400 hp and 400 lbs of torque...but i want something in the toyota name.
@chinchillawrangler There is a ft-86 comming out that will be either toyota, scion, or subaru. It probably won't have huge power from the factory but, the handling will be insane ( flat engine), rear wheel drive, and rear tires close to the biggest they make for the corvette. i think they will be like 10.5 inches wide. ( this is on a small car.) you just mod it with a turbo and it will be a verry sweet ride....they are talking about the cost being under 30 thousand...
@chinchillawrangler maybe because it is a 5700 lb tank, and most of the weight is in the front, i would like to know if it was in 4 wheel or not....either way that is a ton of weight to get up and movin'. I perfer the super light cars modified for high hp and trq.....but to each his own.
Nice truck...however it looks like you have quite-a-bit left in your 60' and 1/8...
mile et's. I run consistant low 1.9's at the 60' sign and 8.1's at the half track marker on the factory BFG's. almost always resulting in 12.7something @ 110With no SC. I dynoed 543rwhp and 541 torque and my RCSB TRD weighs 4994... Keeep at it. I bet you' have another 2.5 tenths left in your p/u just as it is...
@12secyoto 12.7 odd seconds @ 110MPH in a N/A 5.7 Tundra? I think you typed something wrong or omitted some details. What is your secret? Mines a pretty quick N/A tundra doing high 13s at 2800 feet but I can't believe that claim plus I have a few small mods including much grippier shorter tires.
The tundras are pretty quick stock not gonna lie, but GM's newer 6.2L with the 6 speed auto are faster stock than a tundra. I think a few years ago the tundras were probably about the fastest stock truck, but not anymore. The 6.2's also come detuned quite a bit from the factory, with just a custom tune by itself you can get low low 14's in 1/4th mile.. Also the new 2011 Hemi trucks are pretty quick believe it or not. Not hating on any truck, I like any truck that is fast.
@j20062006 An untuned stock Tundra will hit 14.2 sec. A tuned Tundra will hit between 13.7 and 13.9, a super charged tundra will hit between 12.3 and 12.8. Also a stock tundra can beat a V6 stang, which in itself is pretty impressive if you ask me
@HFCHSvids How does a stock Tundra that can do 14.2 sec, beat a V6 stang that does 13.7? What's more impressive to me is a 4x4 CrewCab F-150 doing 14.5, I can't wait till someone with a regular cab ecoboost does some quarter mile runs
@malkowskitube it is because this tundra has a stock supercharger. TRD supercharger, the truck puts out 550 lbs of torque and 504 hp from the factory...... ( that is more than a vette and just a little less than a viper. and it is a truck that weighs 5700 lbs.)it is an option, but it is factory. But i highly doubt that a v6 mustang stock will run in the 13's....
@jewmim Tundra does not have a stock supercharger on any model or trim package. It's an AFTERMARKET supercharger from their catalog. So you can't call it stock. I wouldn't order a Ford Racing Whipple and slap it in a F-150 and call it stock. It is not an option, it is not factory. You cannot order a Tundra and include the Supercharger from factory, and yes, V6 Stangs do 13's easy. Hell even Motortrend did 13.7 in their tests and their drivers suck. So I reiterate my previous post.
@j20062006 An untuned stock Tundra will hit 14.2 sec. A tuned Tundra will hit between 13.7 and 13.9, a super charged tundra will hit between 12.3 and 12.8. Also a stock tundra can beat a V6 stang, which in itself is pretty impressive if you ask me
Ya seems like all these new trucks are coming out with 380-400hp stock, which is great. Makes me want to do more mods to my truck again because 11's at the track is the new 12's in the 1/4th mile lol.. Not that hard to get into the 12's any longer is what I mean. I have a cammed 5.3L ls engine in a regular cab 04 silverado with LT headers custom tune and stock wheels. Its a 13.4/13.5 sec truck easy with the stock converter. Need to get a high stalling converter and be 12.9-13.2
@j20062006 Chevys are my favorite trucks besides for Tundras. My old Tahoe had a 350 5.7 LS1 Small block in it. The thing was a gas hog but she could tear it up!
thats wat happens when they mess with tundras..........NOT TITAN NOT F150 AND NOT TO MENTION SILVERADOS THEY'VE GOT NOTHIN ON TUNDRA.......FUCK EM ALL
@Stexer91 try over 5600 lbs...with the supercharger system probably over 5700 lbs......but i would like to know if he was using 4wheel drive or not........
@FloridaSPL So you didnt buy the kit, that comes with the fuel pump, injectors, TRD CAI, iriduim tip plugs, and intercooler? I thought that is the only way you can buy a TRD supercharger to be able to get the full 500 HP!
Didn't read all the comments, just the first one that asked if it had an intake which the kit does come with, And you agreed with him saying, "Correct. Just a factory SC added."
Did you have to have the dealer install and tune it?
@chevelle454ss1 that was actually nice man. most people that doesn't like Toyota can't find one nice thing to say or even have an ounce of respect about them. chevelle 454...now those dudes are nice :)
@OneFastYota exactly.. a 12 second car is not even consider slow..95taylor331 if toyota is POS why did you even watch the video when you there is an big toyota in the title.Find something else to occupy your time rather than bashing peoples vechicle.
